THF can be a top DD on those birds, I remember a parse that was posted awhile back on here showing a well geared/played thf was pwning a well equip ridill war.


The problem I have is that SE just hasent given us blu's much love in high level exp. My major gripes about blu right now are as follows:

1. Big lack + skill gear, all the other mage jobs can get a nice amount of +skill.

2. We have 100 spells at 75 we can set and alot of them are worthless.

3. Lack of good melee gear before Homam. I think all ToAU jobs suffer at gear choices though especially pup, there just isn't enough gear in general when comparing what the other jobs can use.

I'm not saying "lolblu" I just think we need some small adjustments, more useful spells, and maybe a new JA.

Ahhh i see. Yeah, and alot of spells you don't even use have to be set just to gain a effect you want. I have heard people say it would be nice to either merit more blue magic set points or be able to equip more. Square Enix did say in the expansion they will be adjusting all jobs. Hopefully they will implement some of the changes you desire. They have been making a effort lately to reach out to the playerbase and do what they want as best they see fit.

As for THF, it's sad how hard it is to find a good THF now days, but I have known some, and when they are good they are great. Has almost made me want to level the job but I would just become obsessed over getting Assassins Armlets.

Blu does not lack in merit parties. They fulfill a different roll to a pure DD, and while a lot of people say "lolhybrid", get over it. A GOOD blu can already come close to the very top tier, well skilled players in merit parties, and on top of that, they have access to the best damage mitigation in the game in the way of headbutt. Over the course of an hour of meriting on colibri, its very possible you will save a good 20 pieces of food, stop a good 20 pecking flurries, save your party a good 10-15 weaponskills.. see where this is going?

Furthermore, assuming you open the fight with a disseverment, you add an 18hp/tick poison which will likely do about 100 damage (about 3% of a colibri's life), as well as taking the initial 3-6 hits on your own shadows rather than eating the third eye of the WAR/SAM and DRK/SAM tping for a weaponskill... so on so fourth.

If BLU could match damage with pure DD classes point for point, there would be no point inviting anyone else. Already a BLU burn is possibly the most powerful merit party there is (try it before you say otherwise). BLU does not, and will never parse % wise exactly the same as a good war spamming raging rush, nor should they. The amount of damage saved and added by a 5 second recast stun alone makes up a lot of the difference, and the poison effect from disseverment is icing on the cake.

Dont bring 2 ridill war's if you're so worried about mob TP attacks.

MNK/WAR MNK/WAR MNK/WAR (all using counterstance) RDM BRD BRD can clear out an entire floor of colibris and be forced to wivres (or pull from other floor) with colibris firing one TP attack per fight, usually at the 20% HP stage which is usually avoided with a properly timed asuran fists.

What's wrong with swearing? I wasn't trying to sway the opinion on everyone in the entire world on BLU and i'm sure there is 1000's of people who know more about it than me. I was trying to make a point and state my own personal opinion. I swear in just about everything I say/write, it's part of the "loudness" of me I suppose. Not because I can't argue a point. Besides, I never fully expected to win a Argument against actual BLU's in the first place. Like I say, was stating my opinion.
