    I never said that I couldn't keep up with it while spamming, I said I didn't care enough to read it at all. As to what you bolded, that was me asking a general question if someone else took the time to read it. If you can't keep up with the conversation, don't join.

    See, this is the problem with you posting in the first place. I said I didn't care enough to keep up with the storyline. I never said that I couldn't keep up with the story line.

    You apparently thought my lack of care was a lack of ability, which is why you're an idiot for still carrying this on. I don't care about the storyline or if you or anyone else took the time to read it. I didn't care about it = would have been a waste of time for me to have read it.

Let's make the drop rates not only shit but completely random (I'm sure i'm not the only one to have seen 5 yes 5 BST and 4 DRG yes 4 DRG on the same dynamis beaucedine) which is sad when you have 20 people lotting R
    DM and about eleventy billion lotting ninja. Let's make it NOT instanced just to piss you off and while we're at it lets throw in a nice 1 million gil entry fee and btw, you can only go twice a week! Don't worry though, getting 30 people together at one time twice a week and getting them to do this frequently is easy. Because we all know how many intelligent people are left on FFXI these days.

    I love a challenge, infact there needs to be more shit like Dynamis Lord and Odin in this game. But hard work needs to pay off more and shit needs to be less random. Alot of excellent end-gamers seem to be quiting more often just because of the repetitiveness (is that even a real word?) of end game without seeing viable reward for your effort. It's like going to a job working for a month then them saying "We have 1 paycheck, everyone pull this slot machine and whoever rolls highest gets the paycheck! Good luck next month!"

    Noobs have AF2 left and right from being in the right place at the right time. It's no longer rare, i have allmost 30 pieces of the shit myself. I see alot of my friends struggle to get there's and never get it. It pisses me off. Dynamis is fun, seeing AF2 drop is fun, SEEING HAPPY PEOPLE OBTAIN AF2 IS FUN, Drama because enough doesn't drop is NOT fun. Being able to stand out as your job and feel like the <job> that you are is fun. There is rare gear out there like Salvage gear which is a awesome system and is fine how it is imo. Just for gods sake SE, give people some <job> onry equip that they can work for and feel good about earning. Something that doesn't take 2-3 years per job and probably won't even happen if you have shitty luck. Nothing beats being 4/5 on 3 jobs for 2 years.

    As for the kings... Christ, don't even get me started on them. I stoped camping them a long time ago, that shit is not worth it anymore, FIX IT SE! Jesus that was a long rant i'm really sorry. But in short i fully agree with Ryko. (Even though i think the OP is sarcasim but i'm to tired to be able to tell so i wrote this out anyways)

    If you're not playing FFXI for storyline, why are you playing it?

    Go play Halo 3 or Madden online if you want internet comraderie, FFXI is a roleplaying game, where you assume the role of your adventurer along his or her or galka's story.

    Not saying thats ALL THERE IS, but if you don't appreciate the story, chances are you're a douche.

    For me personally, I played the game because it's a fun game to play and as I said if i want to read a story i'll buy a book. I wouldn't have even started playing this game if my brother hadn't talked me into it in may of 2004, and wouldn't have continued to play it if the game itself wasn't so fun to play.

    I played to fight things, solo things on monk and eventually rdm when i leveled that. Help friends get items and do things that took a lot of people to kill that had nothing to do with story. Being a big part of the first LS on gilgamesh to kill wyrms in 2005 was fun and had nothing to do with storyline. Spending 45 minutes to an hour soloing serket on mnk/nin before the ssj thing was fun and had nothing to do with the storyline.

    crafting goldsmithing to 95+ was fun and had nothing to do with the storyline. Spending endless hours messing around with friends was the attraction to the game for me, not reading text in cutscenes that I probably wouldn't remember a few day's after reading it.

    Anyone that knows me would probably agree that i'm both a douche and a pretty good guy as far as the game is concerned. I spent a shitload of hours helping whatever LS I was in without ever asking for stuff cause I had fun helping, but to be fair I have had my moments of being an ass and I know that.

    Not saying anyone is wrong to enjoy the story, it just wasn't why I played and it's not the only reason to play.

    I think the shortage of AN earrings is due to the fact that both CoP and Zilart can be done with 6 people, but then comes the Bahamut fight typically needing an alliance. Sure, he's easy as pie for the good shells, but if you're a randomly thrown together CoP static spread out amongst a few socials? Good luck. A pick-up AA fight would likely have more success, in all honesty. And no annoying level cap.

    Overall, I'm for improving drop rates or means of acquisition in our top-heavy game. I dread when I have to lot against people, especially if I like them. Since it means if I win, I screw a friend. If I don't win, particularly to someone I despise, then I just got screwed. Sure, it's all zeros and ones, but when that chance only rolls around once a month due to schedules, you want the most of it.

    Oh well, here's to hoping WotG doesn't bring us more latent gear with stupid trigger conditions.

    I did my Bahamut1 with a pickup alliance that formed in whitegate. Do they still do that these days?

    Maybe they should give Warrior more healing abilities so it wouldn't be far fetched to have them main heal over a WHM once in awhile.
