Hmm, the assault mission's not too hard iirc, to buy time, you can have someone kite the qiqirns in a circle around a small lava pond to the...NW I think? Keep a tight circle and cut corners and the qiqirns shouldn't be able to keep up.

I was RDM in Sargas' group, I never noticed anything wonky with the hate. I only cast Dia 2 and maybe a blind on the Qiqirns our NIN voked, saving mp for curing and hasting the melee, refreshing the BLMs, and curing the Apkallu. We kept to the right side on the bridge, killing them before they got close to each other as Sarg said. The far side we lost about 2 Apkallu to that first wave while they held off the Qiqirns we weren't fighting but after that they are well staggered and with a full 6 we didn't need the Apkallus help at all. BLM seemed like better damage than melee on this because of the Qiqirns thiefy evasion. RDM BLM BLM seems like a possible trio if you can survive the first wave, going out to pull early and bringing the Qiqirn into the fray is good for any setup though.
insanely easy assault o.O I cant fathom how you guys had so much trouble.
I did this with Sam, Nin, Thf, Rdm and we followed this strategy. Like someone stated before we treated it like Blitzkrieg it wasn't hard at allOriginally Posted by dyluck

Our Nin never had problems keeping hate/shadows and as long as I was hasted I could hold 2 at a time on Thf out of apkallu range. I dunno what to say, maybe have your DDs gang up on 1 Qiqirn at a time. Have a Thf drop feint if you have it and they go down in like 2 seconds.
Have people keep an eye out to the East and West. When Qiqirn appear, call which side and how many, then pull the Qiqirn. Let the kiter pull it through the middle of the Apkallu before you attack, the Apkallu zerg help to drop them faster. As long as you pull them before they get on top of you and before they build up into a swarm of 3 or more, you'll be fine.
Rely on the male Apkallus o.O wth. Anyway havent been followng this topic and yes this is a very easy assault there will never be more than one Qiqirn attacking you if you pull ahead of time.
