My friend also got his account taken 5 days ago and has been trying every since to get it back. All SE will tell him is to contact the FBI about theft. He has all the information needed and they still won't reset his password.

I'm not to sure what he may have had done to you but IMO NOBODY deserves something like this unless it is someone who may have hacked another in the past, eye for an eye seems pretty fair. I don't care if you cfh'd on Kings, mpk'd a group, pissed in someones cornflakes or anything like that I don't believe anyone deserves to have their account hacked. I've been in one of Aace's LS's and have nothing bad to say about him as no one I've heard from has anything bad to say about the guy either. Remember there may be people out there that hold a grudge against you as much as you do him but do you think it would be sweet if something like this happened to you? Remember all the long hours you put into making your character and lemme know how you'd feel if you went to log on one day and all of a sudden the 12,000 hours of time you had put in was all gone, wouldn't be to happy I bet.

Not saying it's justified, just that Aace is known to have alienated a lot of the NA player base before he left the first time he did so, for various reasons.

No personal issues here (except the time I exp'd with him in the Dunes and all he had was a weapon and body armor, and no one wants to look at an Elvaan's ass for that long), but you'll find a number of people on both sides of the argument, I'm sure. This is truth. No crime (except hacking of another\'s account and theft of their virtual property) deserves being treated subjected to this.

It\'s a violation, and a disgusting one at that. To think all that time spent (whether in acts of piety and virtue, or derision and villainy) could be stolen by one person who doesn\'t agree with your actions...to say nothing of the money spent for the privilege of spending your time in this manner!

You have my sincerest condolences Alphacat, whether you be a player I\'d never group with more than once or a well known member of my LS, you deserved better, and I hope you get your account back.

That's correct. It just has an invalid SSL certificate. However the whole point of this thread is about security, so just google "password generator". This will bring up many different sites you can choose from.

this is the exact reason that any vulnerabilities in the security of pol should be brought up with SE directly and not plastered all over message boards advertising to people who will exploit it. imo that would have been a much better way of addressing the potential for a breech. that way people who are deployed or are simply afk for a few weeks dont' get slammed on this before they get an opportunity to change their password (not i. changed my password again last night after getting it reset. i decided to change it to some "super secure" password with caps, symbols and numbers and forgot it cause i'm dumb and didn't write it down hence the need to reset it)
