As far as women's rights you would be surprised that it can be even more difficult to be cut than a man. Despite the fact I wasn't married, the doctor who performed my procedure wanted a signature from my significant other saying he was OK with it.

Over 2 years later now, he's turned into a stereotypical deadbeat dad and I want to take those papers back in and slap that doctor in the face with them. How dare anyone try to tell ME whats best for me. I will make my own choices and live with the consequences for them.

I love my kids and the attention I am able to give them both. I know another child would reduce the amount of individual time they would all get. I am happy with my choice.

Kids do help the economy. It wont have a direct impact, but an aging popultion cost more to keep alive, spend a lot less, produce less...etc. It's important to keep a certain average (2.3 or something) per family. Of course, immigration can partially make up for it, but it will never replace a higher birthrate.

I'm glad I had the chance to live, and I hope I will give someone else the same chance. It has nothing to do with religion, but I do want to give back what I received. I doubt I will be a great parent or anything, but I know I will do my best for my kids, even if it's going to be a pain, even if my own personal comfort might be hurt for a bit.

I'm not sure why so many people refuse to have kid. It does sound selfish yo me in a way.

I'm not gonna touch the topic at hand, as I'm too young to think about having kids (nearing my twenties), but I would like to point out a funny fact (fine, maybe not funny) that Mikael is actually quite common swedish / finnish name. I've known plenty of Mikael's.

You think with modern medicine, they could come up with a pill or an IUD type device for men.

Pill is already in development for men. Paralyzes the muscle that causes ejaculation.

Dont worry, it doesnt alter your orgasm in the slightest. A vasectomy is simply the clipping of the vas deferens, cutting off the sperm from your ejaculate. You still ejaculate, still orgasm fine, you just have no sperm present.

I wasn't referring to the vasectomy, which is quite apparent if you actually read my post

Its a good idea to keep your options open until you are say 40--

I never really thought much about having kids until I met someone I actually wanted to procreate with. It wasn't that I wanted to have A child, I wanted to have HIS child.

I'm 34 and pregnant with our first.

Oh and to derail, feeling something moving around inside you is the weirdest feeling!
