It comes down to marketing. If they released 200k units into the market place, and only 50k sold, with 150k buying it through their online service they would be losing out. I have no clue how Fiscal information would be calculated when looking at Keys bought through their service, but I always thought that sales via physical stock held more "worth" when it came to pretty "release sales" numbers.

Kind of sucks though. They would have had my money the moment the registration key service had it up for sale. I'm still getting the ISO dumped online and downloaded here with a friend in the states buying the units and sending us the key. Then sending over the boxes a few weeks later.

Yes, of course, how could I not see it? It's obviously their fault because you decided to get a game that wasn't supported in your region yet.

Instead of blaming things on the side that is not at fault, you could try to find ways around this such as downloading the EU version of the game (regular, zilart, and toau). Burn them to disk for safekeeping when you need to reinstall or something (or keep it somewhere, ie. hard drive). Now you have a fully compatible version of the game installed on your PC for the EU version of WoTG.

You don't seem to understand how difficult they've made it. I have been playing in EU since NA release. I've since bought an EU version of the game for my fiancé to play alongside with me. I can tell you that I can NOT make any account changes to my NA-bought-ID without an NA version of the software. That includes activating content IDs for expansions and anything account related (I can't even make a mule on a different version of the software, as that is an account-related action). Therefore, we MUST import the NA version of the expansion in order to play it on our original characters. I think you can understand that you don't have all of the information, as you asserted. In fact, you have absolutely no idea what you're talking about, lol.

There's also the chance of toll fees.

As stated in another post, I just send an e-mail to the online store where I bought the expansion aksing them to just send me the registration code via e-mail, then download the torrented expansion. Can't be faster and cheaper.

Cool thanks for website, but is only free shipment if i use normal air mail system (i did that for ToAU expansion, was 4 weeks and the risk my local mail system loses the package), but they have a DHL service for 56 $ that is not bad, oh btw i cant find expansion on their website, there is something called final fantasy vista for november, dont know if that is.

I'm tempted at this point if I'm going to be still out of the country on release of the expansion to have my sister in the states get me the PC version and e-mail the code so I'll have at least one account able to access the new expansion areas right away... My other two accounts would be stuck until the console versions arrived in the mail, since I can't download install CDs for them, but it'd be better than nothing... ^^;

c'mon Amazon... list the bloody expansion already... I have Amazon Prime which I paid for before I left the states, so I can have them ship the expansion to my sister for free...

So of course now I need US versions for every expansion... and I have to pay twice the price for delivery and import tax. One copy for CoP wasn't so bad, but after that I was given another character when a friend quit. So now I need 2 registration codes -_-

When ToAU came out I found a site that would sell you the CD Keys only, but I can't remember at all where that was... Anyone got any ideas?

Failing that, time to bug a US friend to go buy me 2 copies! Not paying $30 + $20 delivery EBGames , plus random import tax when it's delivered again.

I still have to Torrent WotG. My DVD-rom has decided to only read CD's so unless I want to buy a new DVD-rom just to install the expansion I'm going to need to download it. Would've made things easier to just buy the key online.

Maybe they already made the cd's and sent them out in boxes so it's a waste if lots of people register it online?

Optical drives are cheap as hell these days, you can get one for less than $30 off Newegg with pretty much everything short of Blu-Ray and HD-DVD support.

As per this comment will keys be available for purchase or are you just offering the discs for download? I'm kinda annoyed SE aren't selling keys this time around and if they aren't available through this I will have to take Zigma up on his offer.

I dont know if anyone knows this but.... I live on the east coast USA

I reserved 4 copys of the game 2 for friends of mine and one for my xbox and one for my comp.

My questions is Gamestop in frederick said it ships on the 20th but wont hit stores on the east coast until the 21st.

Is that true? Or is it just that store. I mean I got the money and I want it the first day I can. Any Ideas? Thanks.

Yes, you'll get it the 21st, no other way to get it earlly. The game doesnt go live till the 22nd anyway. However the 22nd in JP is like mid afternoon on the 21st. Next time use the search function, there are 3 threads about this same topic that I can think of just off hand.

Sorry if this seems like a stupid question, but what exactly is the point of this thread?

The OP seems to be a response to a question people had been asking at the time that SE addressed on thier site and the GM thing ended up having it's own thread here and appeared to be them releasing it more as an FYI rather than responding to the community.

I'd honestly like to hear a response as to why myself and others are constantly getting locked up in Whitegate than reading that they updated their GM manuals. Even if they just acknowledge that it's a known issue would be a nice start.

I can handle the GM stuff, but I hate the fact that I have to avoid a major area of the game just to avoid getting locked up/froze. If needed I'll submit feedback DAILY til it gets addressed.
