Interested in Schilling pitching tomorrow night. I still say if the Rockies could get a split, they have a chance. That and teams generally bounce back from a whoopin' they take like this in a previous night. People say that hitters don't get tired after a huge night like this, but in some cases, they truly do.

Game 2 about to start. I'm predicting a 4-3 Rockies win tonight. Jimenez can be completly unhittable if he can throw strikes early in the count, and I honestly think Schilling has looked pretty shaky in most of his starts, but has gotten lucky defensive plays and has had his offense come through for him. What happened last night was pretty predictable considering how dominant Beckett has been in his career in the playoffs and the fact that the Rockies hitters had only been seeing pitches from machines and fat pitching coaches for over a week. I think their bats will wake up tonight. Also, if the Rockies do win tonight, the Sox seriously need to be careful. The Rockies are something crazy like 45-10 at home this season.

Tough tough loss for the Rockies, but their pitching did do well tonight shutting down the Sox offense.. but they were just too good. Good game tonight for the Sox.

Curt Schilling - Only pitcher is history with an .800+ winning percentage in the playoffs and at least 10 decisions.

The Sox really need to get him the $13mil deal that he wants for next year. Their pitching staff is projecting to be extremely young, and the free agent pitching pool this winter is going to be ankle deep at best. Even if the speculated Johan Santana deal gets made, having a veteran pitcher like Schilling on the roster will reap great rewards for 2008. Currently the Sox 2008 rotation will include Beckett, Lester, Matsuzaka, and possibly Buchholz. With the uncertainty surrounding the future of Wakefield's career, and the contracts (anyone remember Matt Clement?) coming off the books this year, grabbing Schilling one more time makes all the sense in the world.
