Not once did I say "Nobody asked those questions." Please read my posts, the one I'm about to quote already answers the questions you seem to be obsessed with.

They put the questions and answers in there themselves. They wouldn't have placed it #3 in a series of questions about the Almight Apkallu if it didn't drop it.

But if they did, they would have responded in the same cryptic way they always do. Revealing that it doesn't drop from AA, the search is not futile, and to never give up!

Paragraph 1. I didn't make clear enough, obviously. What I meant to say is: The response by the developers was written by them, about the questions asked at the Fan Festival. They placed it in the group of AA themselves. It's their words, not ours.

Paragraph 2. Again, it answers what would likely have been said, in the case that somebody asked about an item that didn't drop from AA.

I guess a better question for you, then, would be if you think the people at the fanfest asked about Birdman Cape completely separate from the questions about AA, such that it was entirely the dev's idea to put them together? Or do you think the people asking about AA also asked about Birdman Cape along with it, such that the dev's had the idea we think they're related?

I suppose another good question would be (for somebody who can understand Japanese) if the way they wrote the answer gave any impression that they were being sly with their response? Their tone and any underlying meaning could have been lost in translation, if indeed you are right about it.

Ok, so... If it were asked in that way, I don't think they would have responded much differently, unless of course, it didn't drop from AA. I imagine, when they were writing notes to take back with them, they didn't note the relationship that was implied between AA and the cape, only that the question "Where does it come from?" was asked. Of course they could have wrote it literally as it was asked, but we really won't find that out, lol. Anyway, I'd guess it would go something like:

* He doesn't like being left alone, and will wander off if no one is around to keep him company.

Finally, an attendee of the Fan Festival asked us why beastmaster pets do not lose TP while they were resting, when wyverns and automatons do. Our planners were convinced that they had already addressed this issue in a previous version update, but promised they would check it out the minute they arrived back in Japan, just to make sure.

And what did we find? That you were right and we were wrong--wyvern and automaton TP was being lost! So, we flipped on our computers, fixed the problem immediately, and are happy to say that everything should be back to normal after today's version update. We would also like to apologize again to all puppetmasters and dragoons for the misunderstanding.

AV is a debug monster they forgot to take out. But rather than admit it, they just told us it's reliably killable with reproducable methods, and have been attempting to ninja fix it ever since!

Not sure what you're alluding to, but iirc, the Vrtra@Spook thing was done by someone pos-hacking around and Vrtra getting screwed up and following him there. It wasn't done by SE.

I think it is like a pirate attack from mhaura/selbina where if you can target the doors to the upper deck real fast after loading he will be up ;3

I remember having that happen op me once on the whitegate to nashmau ship and Proteus was up, and AA should be his equivilant atleast imo.

Saw 2 apkallu up at start of one ship ride once, think the doors were targetable right after loading again too...can't remember if it was AA/Proteus trip though. ><

puissant penguin....so he is like really hard anyway, just like proteus. So, if someone finds him on the ship all alone, good chance he will massacre you.

Anyone happen to know Proteus' spawn conditions? The one time he killed me there was 3(including me) people on the ship.....

I was thinking something similar actually since there is that delay in targeting the door on the way back from Nashmau. However on the way to Nashmau you can always target the door instantly so the fact that Proteus was up is just coincidence.

I have not read this entire thread but caught the allusions made by SE. Was just curious if anyone has tried camping this with an alliance? I know I know seems stupid but that note about AA wandering off if left alone makes me think maybe the boat needs to be full for him to pop. meh just a suggestion and I hope someone figures this out soon i wants a birdman cape!

AA has popped on servers though in the past, how likely is it that there is enough people on the boat to count as an alliance without ANY of them knowing something about AA?
