I took a rare boat ride from Nashmau to Whitegate while I finishing up a rank up quest. It was darksday around 16:00, with no weather effects. No apkallu popped. I was the only one on the boat.

Can this thing just be a lottery spawn? I know most ppl don't really take time camping this, and when they do spend time and not get it popped they think there is a condition.

Interestingly, I was telling my LS about this NM a few weeks ago about how it doesn't pop at all and doesn't drop the sword. Two plds in my LS quickly gave me /tells that everytime they camp they were able to get it to pop but nothing dropped. Both were looking to get the sword (and I know there are speculation that it was only a rumor that it drops, and it should only drop in the assault, but both plds don't read BG board so they are just camping it for the sword xD). One told me that she camped for 8 hours straight for two days, taking boats back and forth, and killed two pops and nothing dropped out of them. I believe the other pld was 0/2 on drop as well.

So yea, this thing does exist, just takes time for it to pop I believe.

sounds like bullshit to me. Nobody on any server has reported to see this mob but 2 PLDs in your LS arw a combined 0/4 on it and they are camping it for an item that doesn't drop off it and was found to be a bullshit story? Try again. Plenty of people have camped the boat for hours upon hours and riden every single ride.

Though, that's what we said about Ravin Raven when that guy gave a report somewhat similar to the tone of this post. Then again, that was first hand, this is second hand... For the benefit of the doubt, talk to those PLD, and ask them exactly what they were doing during the trips, how many were on the boat when it popped, what they were doing when it popped, etc. Chances are this is BS, but in case it's not...

it's really annoying to see people say "not many people kill the pops"... and then on the next page "not many people leave the pops up" over and over and over again.

i guess its too much for people to read the first 8(?) pages of the thread where many people have talked about what they've tried, including myself, who has stated that i road the boat 6-8 hours a day, the same timeframe for a week. spent hours killing apkallu, spent hours leaving them up, yadayadayada...

like ashira hinted at, its frustrating that the last 20 pages of this thread have been nothing more than:

cmon, can people actually do some testing on their own? personally i've taken the boat more recently and still nothing... i'm going to go back and do a little more testing with apkallu hate and stuff, because thats the only thing that i can see us overlooking at this point

Is there a weather checker for the boat trip? I guess there could be the possiblility of it popping similar to nobel mold (only when weather checker says it will be raining in zitah then a 21-24 window is opened for the duration of that weather period). It could explain why one of the previous posters said 2 people in their linkshell saw it near the same time, because the 'rainy' weather occurse for a few RL days before changing. It would also explain why people have camped it so long and havn't seen it yet.

31+ pages, no clear cut answer and people are starting to repeat the same ideas out of pure frustration. There is proably 20+ ideas so maybe a refresher of them can get people thinking in a new direction.

I don't see why I would want to lie about this or they would. Both plds are extremely trust worthy and one of them doesn't even talk much in the LS... I don't see either of them will want to lie but anyway. The server is kujata, the two persons are Plagueddeath, who is about to get Aegis, and the other is Koolkitty. I don't see neither of them have the reason to lie. What I stated is just for your information. The NM benefits nothing to me so I don't see myself trying to screw ppl on this particular topic, plus I didn't witness it, so it's also not something I can brag about. Point is, there are only so many ppl reading and posting on BG, and quite frankly, both of them don't. So just because ppl from BG have spent hours and hours camping and not get it doesn't make it non existing. But anyway, you can ask them if you are in kujata, but I will also try to get some detail on it. Chance is again, you won't believe me even if I provided the detail.

I can tell you this tho, since both of them don't read BG board and clearly both of them didn't have any knowledge of this is such a hard thing to spawn, I can almost guarantee you that both of them didn't try any particular way, this includes getting apkallu hate, weather, or whatever, so I really doubt they will remember the exact condition cuz both of them just think it is a random lottery spawn on the boat and nothing more. Remember, they camped this thing for the sword, shows you how much they knows about this NM.
