Can this thing just be a lottery spawn? I know most ppl don't really take time camping this, and when they do spend time and not get it popped they think there is a condition.

Interestingly, I was telling my LS about this NM a few weeks ago about how it doesn't pop at all and doesn't drop the sword. Two plds in my LS quickly gave me /tells that everytime they camp they were able to get it to pop but nothing dropped. Both were looking to get the sword (and I know there are speculation that it was only a rumor that it drops, and it should only drop in the assault, but both plds don't read BG board so they are just camping it for the sword xD). One told me that she camped for 8 hours straight for two days, taking boats back and forth, and killed two pops and nothing dropped out of them. I believe the other pld was 0/2 on drop as well.

So yea, this thing does exist, just takes time for it to pop I believe.

Though, that's what we said about Ravin Raven when that guy gave a report somewhat similar to the tone of this post. Then again, that was first hand, this is second hand... For the benefit of the doubt, talk to those PLD, and ask them exactly what they were doing during the trips, how many were on the boat when it popped, what they were doing when it popped, etc. Chances are this is BS, but in case it's not...

I don't see why I would want to lie about this or they would. Both plds are extremely trust worthy and one of them doesn't even talk much in the LS... I don't see either of them will want to lie but anyway. The server is kujata, the two persons are Plagueddeath, who is about to get Aegis, and the other is Koolkitty. I don't see neither of them have the reason to lie. What I stated is just for your information. The NM benefits nothing to me so I don't see myself trying to screw ppl on this particular topic, plus I didn't witness it, so it's also not something I can brag about. Point is, there are only so many ppl reading and posting on BG, and quite frankly, both of them don't. So just because ppl from BG have spent hours and hours camping and not get it doesn't make it non existing. But anyway, you can ask them if you are in kujata, but I will also try to get some detail on it. Chance is again, you won't believe me even if I provided the detail.

I can tell you this tho, since both of them don't read BG board and clearly both of them didn't have any knowledge of this is such a hard thing to spawn, I can almost guarantee you that both of them didn't try any particular way, this includes getting apkallu hate, weather, or whatever, so I really doubt they will remember the exact condition cuz both of them just think it is a random lottery spawn on the boat and nothing more. Remember, they camped this thing for the sword, shows you how much they knows about this NM.

with all benefit of the doubt, even if they don't visit BG, there are extensive threads on almighty apkallu on both Alla and KI. if they don't read forums altogether, i'd imagine they would have had to at least read up on almighty apkallu on an informational site, that of which would had said that AA does not drop sanguine sword

Unfortunately most ppl who don't read forum rely solely on FFxiclopedia, and not long ago it still said it drops the sword on wiki. I believe it is what they based their info on. Heck, some months ago even I thought the sword is dropped from that NM, and I read all 3 major forums. I don't know... but you really need to quit thinking that I made those up. Most ppl see an item they want -> go to wiki -> see how it is obtained -> see which NM -> camp in game over and over -> pop and claim and no drop -> keep camping -> if never pop -> go search forum. I guess they were just lucky and saw the pop the first few times they camp, and never thought there was a problem so didn't bother to do research. I am now trying to get both of them to post here, so stay tuned.

I guess if they read BG and know this is such a myth they would have taken SS. The whole point is they don't even know this NM is this big of a deal, and they won't if they don't read forums.

But anyway... really pointless, all I tried to do is to provide info on what I know. I don't see why I have to be treated like a lier lol... can't guarantee you that my source didn't lie, but very vey unlikely and no reason they should. Like I said, they didn't even know this NM doesn't drop sword, nor do they know it is hard to spawn, so why would they lie about something that you think is nothing different from just another NM? Never really lied on a forum and never will. You can go to KI and check out Nameless, and you shall see that I pretty much created the whole rune chopper zerg method, I don't see why I can't get a little respect here... Frankly those ppl on BG laughed and didn't believe that drks can zerg like that, yet right now it is a norm.

To the above post. Thank you for not thinking that I make stuff up. I wasn't there so I don't know if they they duoed the NM or had someone helping. Both of them are pld 75 and one have whm 75 and the other have blm 75. Don't know if any of those jobs can solo it, but I really don't have a doubt that they kill it, they really are not the type of person who will lie about this kinda thing. I guess if they do they would even add that they get the sword out of it lol, and that would be pretty obvious.

He was /follow on the NPC that wanders around the fountain in the middle of Whitegate.
He had all red gear on but was AFK. I will see if I can find him again tonight and SS it.
Was in a rush last night trying to do assaults before Salvage.
Maybe see if he got it from the birdie?

koga, several people have the sanguine sword, and all have gotten it from blitzkrieg assault. the person who started the rumor about it dropping from AA admited to making it up... that's not to say sanguine sword doesn't drop from AA, but using that logic, we can go ahead and say it drops divisor ring too.

I didn't really call you a "liar". I just said it "sounds like bullshit" because there was no info at all and 2 random ppl in your LS just happened to find and kill a mob 4x, that nobody else has even truthfully reported seeing it. I said sounds like bullshit to the Raven Ravin guy for the same reasons but I was also trying to re-create his findings at the same time if you looked. This guy says the PLDs simply road the boat for hours, which I have personaly done a bunch, as well as others and found nothing.

It's good he took it personal though, maybe now he will get more info and it can help solve it if they have seen it. Posting up, my friend's mom's sister's daughter's bff jill saw the penguin, isn't credible info and anyone who isn't skeptical about that kind of info is a fool. ok, I asked one of the plds. She said during one boat ride, after the boat left, she went up and saw it there. No other birds were around. She didn't remember day or night or moon phase, but was pretty sure AC was in our hand. She soloed as pld/rdm, dropped nothing. This is about 6 months ago when she was trying hard to get the sword, which we all know doesn't drop from it.

Now I really want SE to release the condition so perhaps there is a possibility that she actually was lucky enough to see it. I mean the occasion is already rare, and you guys are denying the possibility of anyone who says they kill it. So why bother at all if you are just going to disbelieve?

Forgot to mention this. She rarely kill bird at all, other than the ones she kills on the boat while camping for this, so I think it's nothing about Apkallu hate. If you guys have any speculation and want to ask, i will relate the message.
