I've taken the ride with both the Tsetseroon's Stew and Nashmau Stew in my inventory at the same time. This was shortly after the Grip update. I have zero Apkallu hate (never saw the point in killing them). The AC was in AlZah, and there was nobody else on the boat. 2 Apkallu spawned, but the Almighty didn't. Granted, this isn't immediate proof...

I've taken the ride with Nashmau Stew in inventory, and taken the ride and used Nashmau Stew. Nothing happened it both situations.

EDIT: Tested being under Nashmau Stew effect before ferry started. Tested being under effect while fishing. Tested being under effect while besiege was underway. Tested being under effect and fishing while besiege was underway. . . . still nada.

I'm in the process of capping my Apkallu hate... one thing I've noticed. When you get to the point where they aggro magic, they don't even aggro the effect, the caster pulls hate just by casting (like Arcana aggro). The caster will have hate for 30 seconds. No action (besides maybe some else's casting) can pull hate during these 30 seconds. If you start casting another spell during the 30 seconds, the timer resets.

edit: still testing things about this theory... just proved it wrong, it worked for awhile and we tried the tank doing different things regarding hate and it seemed to be a solid 30 secs...now it's varying, nvm

Maybe you have to magic aggro almighty apkallu when you have high apkallu hate, and he will jump on the boat to fight you?

my guess atm is max hate + defeat the apkallu on the boat and it'll pop.

i'd imagine if you have max hate and still find a way to defeat that apkallu, it'll like prove you have what it takes to fight the nm, and then maybe the nm won't have the damage resistance

If it worked the same way as normal apkallu, it would still be fully buffed up for the back-up pt.

um... my friend and I (nin and whm) killed Arrapago Apkallu for 2 hours in arrapago reef and we got our hate to the point where the nin was hitting for 0dmg... we had to help a friend with carby mitts, so we escaped from the reef, rode the boat from nashmau > alzahbi just to see if he would pop. we pretty much had max hate, but nothing popped... anyways, an hour later after our mitts run, we went back to arrapago to finish off our hate and he had access to all moves, but the ninja was hitting for 60-80 (normal dmg).

so does hate reset alot when you zone or ride the boat or what?

Player based information: Apkallu hate resets over time.

Opinion: Seems to be very true. At first I just waited a tally week to make sure all hate reset, and that seemed safe to do. The last times I was there I killed until hate accumulated then logged. A few hours later I logged back in and my hate already seemed to have reset to a normal killing amount. I did this 3 times during one day. I believe hate resets quicker than we think, but this could also be dictated on if you have a NPC penguin with you or not... I really have no idea.

Unless you set Nashmau as your homepoint, and time it so that as soon as you get max hate killing apkallus in zhayolm or reef, you warp back to Nahsmau and board the boat just as it is leaving. If you do it right, less than a minute should pass between reaching max hate, and warping back and boarding the boat. Killing the apkallu on board should top you off again.

thats true, although that sounds sorta extravagant... maybe you just need near high hate, i'll try it tho

More ideas that were probably said already

1- Fished with the proper lure when apkallu are swimming in the ocean .
2- Hold the apkallu at low hp for a while, kite it around the boat
3- Build hate on this particular apkallu? Is it possible to build hate without killing apkallu (maybe apkallu hate build when you do action on them, and not when you kill them)?
4- Get npc apkallu to follow you around, then take the boat (being liked by the apkallu might trigger a scent or something that carry over on the ship, like the one for opo opo)

besieged having anything to do with almighty apkallu was made up by some fag who wanted people to think he'd found out how to pop it. if it has anything to do with the method of popping it, it's purely coincidence, and to be honest makes no sense and just seems like a dead end. apkallu hate, considering how fast it seems to degrade, also seems like a dead end.

fishing seems like the most likely candidate, considering how apkallu on that barge, if I remember correctly, aggro fishing.
