So 700+ = auto-invite?
Seriously though, parts of it sound good in theory. In practice would be a different story. A peer review system would be interesting too, but also easily abused (think alla, not eBay feedback).

I lol'd so hard at this.Originally Posted by pendragoon

just fucking make it so you can leave feedback for a player at end of every party, that'll make it so people will stop fucking around.

Short, in the short term it would be OK, bery shortly a confederacy of dunces would form to rate each other up and to blam anyone who cares about his/her job and has good gear down. Gil sellers would all have the highest ratings ever since they would vote themselves up. There will always be someone who will figure out how to game the system.
you've considered it wrong. The feedback would only store a maximum of 10 comments and they would disappear after a set amount of time. Only to be used as personal reference to see the status of the players abilities of the current time whether you choose to use it or not.
I also suppose you'd need some sort of requirement to be met before being able to leave feedback for a person to prevent capping positive feedback before being invited, granted it would be iffy to determine a requirement other then needing to get a certain amount of exp in a party.
They should just make it easier to MPK people and then people would learn to stop sucking. Also this goes with the OP's level idea. Nobody is gonna invite that lv74!!
Idk about you guys but I would personally go out of my way to MPK that WHM who cures in Dalmatica or AF2 body, that BLM who nukes in MP gear, Rdm casting enfeebs in a sword and genbu's shield, Ridill warrior TPing in STR rings, etc.
Even the gear evaluation part of this won't work because there are newbs on this game with great gear. Some JP LS from hades came to carbuncle, that call themselves NHIV, they have very good gear but they fucking blow and are very sloppy. NHIV almost wipes to every khimaria they fight that ends up with more than half of their alliance dead. I remember them lasting 30 seconds trying to hold Tiamat with an ample holding crew.
Not trying to derail but just cause people have great gear doesn't make them good.
Don't you already have a pretty good idea of who sucks and who doesn't on your server? Sure there are those times when you get in a pug and you don't know people, but it only takes once and you know forever. I guess you're looking for a way to avoid that "one" time, but I don't think a system that is so ripe for abuse is the answer.
oh yea, this is an excellent idea. Let's mpk everyone we think sucks and that'll teach them to be better players lololol.Originally Posted by Acorn

There, isn't that easy?
Rating systems invariably would be exploited. Vindictive morons would rate you down because they think you're an elitist prick for telling them L75 jobs shouldn't still be wearing Noct Gear. "L33t" players would thumb their noses at anyone not in their clique, regardless of actual ability or lack of weeks to spend staring at darters.
The whole idea stinks. Scrap it and lock the thread already, and let things work the old-fashioned way.
The OP never suggested for players to be able to evaluate others. I don't know why that's even being brought up.
I would rather see a system implemented that allows you to seek for a job(s) while not having to be on that job before something like this.
Se will never do something of the sort.
Imo, they would see a potential money loss from the legit playerbase of people that fucking suck and that would get downgraded into oblivion. What's the point of playing if you can't even get an invite for party right?
Well, you can't really trust SE to evaluate players properly, either. Look at half the gear they create that's totally worthless.Originally Posted by RKenshin

We all know the dude with the awesome gear can blow donkey nuts, but the last thing we need is for those of lesser intelligence to have even more reason to alienate the good player that maybe hasn't been lucky enough on his claims/drops. And if it keeps up long enough, the game could be minus a decent person.
It's not an environment I want to see.
there are a lot of players that are good @ the game that don't have good gear. honestly I don't care how long a red mage can stay alive or what ever, I want a red mage w/ will keep me hasted and has a dalmatica/af2 hat... same w/ war...I couldn't care if they come up w/ some creative way to kill something...I want them to have a ridill adn ebody... they would have to to some point system based on the gear you have and job's you have leveled...

I want to exp with people who can type properly, so I don't have to blacklist them.

I'd like to see any kind of evaluation system aside from player testimonies (if you want to call them that) that could possibly cover all styles of play in this game. Group strategy and individual strategy changes mob-to-mob, and what works for one may be foolish for another. I can't really comment about tanks and melees, since I don't have either of those types of jobs. Some things like being quick with -na/Erase and cures are universal, but knowing where to stand, when to rest, and keeping in mind the list of TP moves any mob has are aspects that change depending on what you're fighting and are equally important to those universal skills. There's just no way an implemented evaluation system could test a player's overall skill, considering how situational this game is. A cut-and-dry test especially could never account for adaptability.
Edit: If SE wants to make an evaluation system to prove individual efficiency at dodging pots in sea, then I'm all for it.![]()
