I've been in the market for a new computer for quite some time, and I'm not a big spender. Not going to lie I'm a jew IRL. I've been waiting, trolling for a good deal on an ok desktop, something in the $700-900 range. Found this:

You can get a decently tweaked out inspiron from them for as low as $650, thats a deal and a half imo. I bought:

Which is actually a pretty solid desktop in my opinion.

I currently run a P4 2.4GHZ, 512mb ram and a geforce 6600 series, so this would be a pretty large upgrade lol.

A lot of the new Dells are getting really cheap to buy now, and being the usual computer I have to set up when clients buy new ones, they are a lot less proprietary than they used to be. They're standard ATX tower form factor, adding drives is easy. The only problem is you have to buy the floppy disk drive from them when you order it or you can't add one (but who wants one of those anyway? lol).

If you buy from the Home side they come with Vista, if you buy off the business side you can get XP instead.

The model you have listed there looks like an especially good discount, even for them: does that coupon apply to all inspirons or just desktops or just notebooks?

missed out on comp + 24" LCD for $650 last week. With the 24" going for almost 700 on its own, that was a good deal didn't jump on it because i already have too many monitors/computers lol

not ideal for gaming, (PCI-E 4x), uses fully buffered ram also, and its probably hot & loud (like most servers) but still a great deal (not like anything is multi-threaded enough to take advantage of 2x Quad Core )
