Re: Too much TH can be a bad thing?

Lower drop rates due to AOE sound more likely than lower drop rates due to lvl. I've had no problem farming TW monsters for crafting materials. I also find it hard to believe that they would code a separate drop rate that scales for level in addition to making it not include NM's.

Just to throw some none TH info out there:

0 TH, 75 Blu/whm, testing spells on level 1ish worms outside bastok (500+ kills) returned 0 ores.
0 TH, 3 Sam/war, exping on same worms returned various multiple ores.

I think this is just due to killing to many mobs in fast succession (whether it be aoe or not). I think SE mentioned this when they implemented it in a update wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyy back.

Killing crawler's in rolanberry when they are ep does not seem to yield more drops than when I kill them as a 75 thf.

Re: Too much TH can be a bad thing?

Where TH makes exp pt drops go nuts, it seems to make low level stuff drop about like it would if you were the right level.

For example, say a level 15 gets 1 ore every 3 worms (in maze or wherever), if he was 15 thf he might get an ore almost every kill.

Make that a 75 in the same place, and they may never see an ore. Add in th, and it would seem to jump back up to about 1/3.

This is completely anecdotal evidence based purely on what I've "noticed."

I've noticed this too, but only in Ronfaure, Gustaberg, and Sarutabaruta.
If I Mea -> Windurst and boomerang the crawlers on the way I don't get anything but leveling a new job in Saruta is worth a stack or two of silk.

However, I can get a cornucopia of sheepskin in Konschtat any time I want.

But people are trying to claim that ALL forms of th are +1%. Clearly this isn't the case...not to mention you're being a bit presumptious in assuming that I wasn't /thf.

Re: Too much TH can be a bad thing?

Each item that could drop from a mob has its own drop conditions or point system related to it. You see items that are 100% drop (various NM) and others (ex. D Ring, Rid, etc.) where you could have 18 TH4's and you still wouldn't get the drop. So, the theories of each TH being 1% is still plausable, because those items that they were testing had conditions/point ratings that were effected by TH.

More abstract ideas: there is also the theory that additional TH adds an extra roll per chance/item, and that's why you can see more multiple item drops.
