Well, Gundam Seed Destiny didn't have much to explain at the start because it was a sequel to Gundam Seed. That's why it could start so fast with all the action, but it led to it's downfall because of all the rehashed scenes, horrible character growth and all that.

With 00, you have to actually learn about all the new factions, their purpose, what they do and what not. I liked the episode as far as growth for the series goes, but you can't please everyone. A series is either too fast or too slow it seems. Ah well. D:

Ah, true. I was only using it as an example of a sequel series and what not. The lack of need to explain something at the beginning of a sequel and all.

The second episode was pretty good, for people who are already complaining of just another gundam anime are just not meant to view the series. All of the series take some time to fully lay out a plot. 00 however, does it while also displaying some pretty sweet fight scenes for just the second episode.

This series will most notably be very similar to the story line of Gundam Wing. The Earth Sphere forces v. Colonies/white fang.

Yeah. That and the Gundam Meisters while being different characters do share some of the similarities of the Gundam Wing Gundam pilots. It's uncanny, but they do it in a cool way. D: The Gundam Meisters/Celestial Being v. AEU, Human Reform League, and the Union. Next episode looks good. Graham's Union Flag looks awesome.

Well, when they announced what they were doing, they didn't say they would do it all without harming the pilots of the suits. They said they were going to stop the conflict all together. That's why Setsuna killed the two guys who were trying to "thank" him for helping them out, so it wouldn't act as if they were playing favorites.

That and I'm glad Gundam pilots are finally killing people. D:

Some people were killed in the first episode, don't think they really had the definite intent of just disabling suits from the beginning. The obvious example would be Tieria blowing the shit out of the one Hellion away, but when Setsuna and Lockon are engaged by HRA/HRL's (depends on your sub) elevator, one suit clearly gets blown up in midair, and the rest just kinda fall out of the sky (sure they could've ejected, but you don't see it). As for the Enact, just disabling it makes a statement that says "I'm better than you." If Setsuna actually killed Patrick, it would've just established the idea that they are just mere terrorists, imo.

BTW, did anyone else pick out Haro's "JUST AS PLANNED?" When I watched the RAW the first time I didn't catch it, but the second time through I caught it and laughed. Then it was confirmed by the subs showing what I heard too.

They're all code names. Someone pointed out in the OP that it shows their name cards or whatever, and all of them say Code Name: (pilot name) Real name: ***********
