Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

Vyloan's setup is very similar to my full MND set which is:

    Mistilteinn
    Numinous shield +1
    Duelist's Chapeau
    Promise Badge
    Enfeebling earring
    Geist earring(lol ;_
Errant houppelande(don't want to get HQ since I've got cursed mail-1 in storage to hopefully someday be paired with the abj)
    Devotee's mitts +1
    Tamas ring
    Aqua ring
    Prism cape
    Penitent's rope
    Mahatma slops
    Mahatma pigaches

Which brings me to 310 enfeebling magic and +68 MND(before mushpots :D).

My full skill set swaps out Promise badge for Enfeebling torque, Errant houppelande for Warlock's Tabard +1, Devotee's mitts +1 for Master Caster's Bracelets(where applicable), and Mahatma slops for Nashira Seraweels which brings me to a total of 344 enfeebling skill and +40 MND(Still with wand/shield and before food). Also I'll drop Mistilteinn and Numinous+1 for HQ staff and Rapter strap+1 in some situations. If I'm getting resisted I'll start swapping out MND for skill pieces(usually one at a time unless I'm conserving MP) starting with my leg gear, then body, and so on and so forth until I'm at my full skill set and Staff/grip. Most of the swapping just goes with how stubborn I feel like being and how much the game feels like shitting on me with resists.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

I did go with Raptor +1 for a strap the second I saw the stats. And I'm definitely one of those folks that has to bow to inventory restraint for getting pieces- I do use Yigit hands for just such a reason, and the feet before I got Duelist boots.

Huge +Skill items, I'd keep on. AF body and such. Otherwise, when it comes to Slow/Paralyze, I want MND. Lots of MND. I'm RDM, a MP machine. I can afford a few casts as long as there's a decent chance to land one and it'll seriously screw up the target. Aside from Stoneskin, that's one reason I pack a wand/shield. If I can't hit any other way, the big stick comes out. Otherwise, I want that spell to go off as effectively and often as possible.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

I use HQ Staff only, and the only +Enfeebling gear I use on 90% of my slow/para casts is Torque+Earring (302 skill with merits), then I put MND everywhere else (cept I keep AF1 hat on, no AFv2 yet). I end up with 75+50MND with /WHM and I'm very rarely resisted. I usually try 2 casts in full potency gear before I switch to skill+ (329 if MCBs are active), but I usually never have to go that far.

Agreed with this guy for the most part. For the most part, my favorite MND enfeeble setup is HQ staff and Relic Hat with MND gear everywhere else. Occasionally I swap out Faith Torque for Enfeebling Torque depending on the mob. Itemized it would be:

    Weapon: HQ Staff
    Ranged: Sweet Sachet (lol)
    Head: D. Chapeau
    Neck: Faith Torque/Enfeeble Torque
    Ears: Communion Earrings
    Body: Mahatma Body
    Hands: Yigit Gages
    Rings: Tamas/Aqua
    Back: Prism
    Waist: Penitent's Rope
    Legs: Mahatma
    Feet: Mahatma

For the "black magic" enfeebles and Silence, I go full + Enfeebling. I'm talking Gravity, Bind, Sleep, etc.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

Similar to Xerlic, my full MND set for Slow/Para consists of usually
    Weapon: HQ staff
    Ranged: Hedgehog Bomb
    Head: Yigit Turban
    Neck: Enfeebling Torque
    Ear1/Ear2: Static/Loquacious(lol, need a communion)
    Ring1/Ring2: Tamas/Aqua
    Body: Errant Hpl.
    Hand: Yigit Gages
    Back: Prism Cape
    Waist: Penitent's Rope
    Legs: Mahatma Slops
    Feet: Goliard Clogs

I've tried using Mythic Wand+1/Shield but prefer HQ staff for the m.acc.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

with what you're looking at Ashira, losing a MND point here and there isn't gonna kill you. As a RDM main mithra, I can still get very potent casts off with wand and only two merits in slow and para 2. My personal setup:

Mythic Wand / HQ staff depending on the mob
    Numinous / raptor +1
phantom tathlum (no mnd ammo for mithra )
    Duelist's Chapeau +1
Warlock's Tabard +1 (usually don't use errant for enfeebles but I pull it out on occasion)
    Mahatma Slops
Duelist's Boots (working on Morrigan's as well)
    Enfeebling torque
    Enfeebling Earring
Geist Earring (can't find anyone to help with Ryaho's, communion earrings are fucking expensive)
    Prism cape
    Penitent's Rope
    2x Aqua Rings

Gives me +45ish mnd and a solid acc on everything but hard HNM. Usually eat either Witch Kabobs (+3) or Brain Stew (+5) on top of it. Its a nice setup and I can still get some solid enfeebles off.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

I'm going to buy a wand and shield later on and try it out for a few weeks. I've been cutting down on inventory space lately and I think I can squeeze in those two items if I leave my resting gear (Yigit pants and Relaxing Earring) in the moghouse.

I wand/shield it up for Para II and Slow II.

    Mythic+1/Num+1. Can't afford/won't spend time getting Mist.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

My RDM Enfeebling Setup looks like this:

    Staff: HQ Staves
Sub: Bugard Strap+1 (To gear share with BLM and the extra +1 MND on Raptor wasn't worth the extra -1 inv for me)
    Ammo: Phantom Tathlum
    Head: Duelist's Chapeau
    Neck: Enfeebling Torque
Ear: Loq Earring and Magnetic Earring
    Body: Warlock's Tabard +1
    Hands: Yigit Gages
    Rings: Tamas and Aqua
    Back: Altruistic Cape
Waist: Forest Rope (Would like Duelist's or thinking about Penitent's)
    Legs: Nashira Seraweels
Feet: Duelist's Boots (Trying for Goliard's in Nyzle Isle atm which are pretty nice too since I won't ever get Morrigan's as I am Usukane Main Lot in Salvage)

Definately need a ton of Enfeebling Magic on mobs like Cerb and Khim as they are a pain to land tier 2 enfeebles on but they do land if you keep at it.

I know, right? How stupid unfair.

    Duelist's Chapeau +1
Warlock's Tabard +1 (usually don't use errant for enfeebles but I pull it out on occasion)
    Mahatma Slops

Yeah, I keep trying to piece together a weekly run on that ENM too, but people suck.

For the most part, outside the Duelist's Chapeau which I do not have yet - though I have Crimson Mask (I haven't wanted to prio the hat over other RDMs who've been 75 forever), this is about what my setup would be as well. The only other future replacement off this gear I could see is possibly Duelist's Belt over Penitent's Rope, which loses me 1 more MND, though I'm hoping I can still make it up elsewhere.

It's interesting I don't see any Jet Seraweels in favor of Mahatma Slops in anyone's setup, I believe. ;D

I did hit 75 last night, so yay, though obviously it will be a bit before they start pulling me in for things like Salvage (Phalanx II yum) or HNM outside of ground because of lack of merits, and I do need a LOT of merits. Especially now with a new job. Heh.

But thanks for the feedback in general, it does show that gear I have available is pretty standard usage, so it's just a matter of testing at this point. It just sucks that it seems RDM of all jobs will have the most macros, for varying types of gear mixes depending on mob. I'm already going insane trying to get Fast Cast >> max recast stuff setup decently, just for exp. LOL

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

First time post, but i'm a big fan of mnd (and int for blind... atleast when doing things that can miss) setup myself.

    Main: Mistilteinn
Sub: Numinious +1 (Astral aspis for int)
Head: Duelist's +1 (Nothing for int here, i just use the 15 enfeeb to unlock other slots)
    Body: Mahatma
Neck: Enf. Torque (5 mnd is nice from promise atleast, and should probably make space for it)
Hands: Yigit (dev+1 is obviously the best mind, and i could just use af2 for blind but i actually dont use windower, so the macroes are small enough as it is, so i just use yigit. + i prefer the yigit look over the over the oven mittens )
    Legs: Mahatma
Feet: Goliard (Use these fulltime apart from when converting when i use crimson, i'm a taru so i try to minimize -hp gear to minimize the curing needed to hit my convert ratio ~1160hp/1160+ mp)
    Waist: Penitents
    Back: Prism
    Rings: Tamas + Aqua(snow)
    Ranged: Hedgehog Bomb
Ears: Magnetic (fulltime) + Loq. Earring and enfeeb earring

Puts me at 70 mnd base with /whm and 3 mnd merits (and 2 int) and +63 with no food.

Several slots can be improved, i could use +2 mnd earrings but i've decided not too, to save some macro and inventoryspace (latter more importantly), devotees+1, +1 mnd ammo feels like it's a waste of space atm (unless they give more gobbie bags) 2 more mind on feet possible, but in exchange for 2 M.acc and 25 hp plus that i would need a pair of int feet anyway, if you care about blind. Goliard feet for +3 resting hp is just too good anyway.

I prefer a stronger debuff that might cost alittle more mp/time (if resist and reaply), but that dont happen too often on the things I do in game, and i carry the magic acc gear needed with me anyway, af1+1 body, hq staves, goliard hands etc.

Oh and yeah i have 8 enfeeb merits to back it up ofcourse and 3 ice 2 wind in rdm cat 1 (5 convert), 3 para II, 2 slow II (1 Phalanx II)

I use Jet Seraweels instead of Mahatma Slops on my BLM just because of the style factor. Used to use them on RDM until I got Nashira. I refuse to wear Mahatma as they are close to the ugliest piece of gear in the game. (I'm not getting into the Mahatma vs Jets debate as it has been done to death and it is also personal opinion on what you want stats wise).

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

yeah, I've got metric fucktons of macros for my RDM - three sets per enfeeble (one for merit, one for minor HNM, one for major HNM), one for each elemental nuke, one for drain/aspir, resting, cure, recast... it gets annoying trying to keep track of them all. a good naming system is essential.

Re: Time to start fussing about RDM gear!

A few years back I was bored at work and took a tablet of paper with all my important spells, all my gear, etc written down and fleshed out an entire system of macros with what gear I'd need depending on different situations.

I still use it although it's been tweaked with new gear choices and whatnot but it's still essentially the same. I don't know if it would make sense to anyone else but for me it's perfect.
