I use zenith head for stoneskin and for procing sorc ring. less inventory taken up and I can still cap stoneskin on blm because of mind merits from rdm

Using it for nuking is just retarded. If you really want to ignore -enmity, get a demon helm (+1)...still a stupid idea though. Just use the af1 hat plz ;-;

lol. I'm 4/5 zenith and the only time my crown sees use is for stoneskin and sorcerer's ring (and medicine ring on my WHM if I want 32% cure potency that badly). My Zenith Mitts see the most use, and ironically enough, I got the other 3 first. >_> I use the slacks and pumps for ring latents only.

Never have used it for nuking. My AF hat has been equipped since level 60 (sans 68-72, I wore my Black Cloak a lot), but there are a lot of times I use demon helm +1 when enmity isn't an issue (ie: manaburning). Put me in a situation where hate can be an issue (dynamis, HNMs, etc., etc.) and I'm leaving my Demon Helm +1 in my mog locker and sporting my AF hat. Temenos is being lame and won't drop Diabolic Silk (I do Apollyon more often but meh), or I would've had an AF+1 hat by now.

Hell NQ AF hat has half the MP of zenith crown, has 1 more INT, doesn't make you lose 50/55 HP, and gives you enmity-4. I fail to see why any BLM - galka BLM included - would wear Zenith while nuking. I've seen some Galka BLMs (not common, but I've seen like 4-5) that gear similarly as I do and they don't have problems most of the time. There's one in my LS that's better geared than me even (Novio, gaiters, etc). One of the fairly common things I see across BLMs are their waist choices. A lot of level 70 RSE waist equip (for mages anyway) gives a decent chunk of MP and INT. The Ocean rope for example gives +45 MP and +4 INT (not really a bad item but I prefer Penitent's Rope because I like the enmity-3).

And I do like the results of my choices. I'd rather be prepared than always having one gear set for nuking.

NQ Demon Helm is utter trash, but +1 has *some* merit. Even then, I won't use it in a group with other jobs or a LS event. I'd rather have the MP+, +hMP, +INT, and Enmity- all in one piece of gear (even though the +hmp gets beat by full yigit, goliard chapeau, etc., still nice to have). It's all of that vs. 1 whole extra point of INT (which honestly I don't even notice even with NQ hat unless I'm nuking puddings or something).

MP+ is useless after you cast your first buff (and you might be using Zenith anyway), hMP is better on other pieces as you note, INT is not as good as Demon +1, and if you are fighting anything worthwhile (ie where Enmity- would even be worth an afterthought) you probably won't be wearing either.

Old news. I frickin' HATE seeing this on my main job (WHM) just because some other WHMs like their zenith means it's ok to wear it fulltime... Nope, wrong.

If I was wearing AF/AF+1 hat for the extra MP only, I'd be wearing my Zenith instead at the opening nuke.

INT is not as good as Demon +1

Old news. Did I mention it's only 1 more point of INT vs. AF+1 hat that's almost meaningless except to the e-peen+1 BLMs that only care about their INT/MAB? Comments like that remind me of a certain BLM.

I use my Demon Helm +1 very often, so I'm beyond well aware that it's better INT wise than AF/AF+1 (which I also mentioned is more noticable on ebony puddings... least to me). I do more stuff involving getting EXP than HNMs on BLM because I'm needed more on WHM for them, but still, my view remains as is.

If you're referring to Sorcerer's Petasos, then I agree with you 100%. DH+1 and AF+1 hat are useless vs. AF2 hat on HNMs. But if I'm doing an event that doesn't require as much skill, I'm wearing my AF/AF+1 hat. Not everyone is lucky to have Sorcerer's Petasos though, so for those that don't it comes down to these two pieces. I know about Elite Beret, but meh I wouldn't really put the gil into one of those. If 4/5 skill allows you to break the 320 barrier or whatever it is to have decent chances of landing a nuke on HNMs like Bahamut and the CoP wyrms, etc., though, then I'd do it and then sell it upon getting AF2.

The way I go by for BLM headpieces, only listing those that have been mentioned >.> :
Zenith Crown - Sorc ring latent / stoneskin
Sorcerer's Petasos - Fulltime HNM piece for nuking (I'm not lucky enough to own one yet)
Demon Helm +1 - Max e-peen piece, helps reach upper tier on ele debuffs, oh yeah and I guess my point is DH+1 offers nothing else other than that
Wizard's Petasos +1 - May not have the best stats in everything it offers (MP beaten by zenith by 20/25 depending if NQ or HQ, INT beaten by DH+1 by ONE WHOLE POINT, Enmity- beaten by Hydra Beret which is -8, etc), but it's a very nice "all-around" BLM head piece. And if it had +6 INT over +5, we wouldn't even be having this discussion as DH+1 would then be worthless period.
