Nenpenche was the name of a character on Diabolos a while ago. Last AH transaction on ffxiah was 12 september, so it's quite possible this is your guy.
I haven't played ffxi since probably february this year though, so i couldn't really comment on their quality. Their name did come up in the "hackers list" that's on taj's site though. I'd be suspicious of him, especially if he lied about the server he came from AND is on the dreaded list.

Edit: if it is the guy from diabolos, this is his (ex?) LS.

Nenpenche ran a Endgame LS on Diabolos server called Midnightrain, his brother Nonponcho was a leader. I was in the LS from July 2006 to like Sept/Oct 2006. Seemed like an ok LS to start with, then went downhill for reasons i have no idea.

Yeah, Nen was one of the leaders for MidnightRain - I was in that ls for a while myself, too. I don't have any personal issues with Nen; though he was a dick at times. And I guess it doesnt matter if he sold his account anyway. Id also just like to point out that Nen/Non/Nan are all different people - They were RL friends at one point in time and made MidnightRain. Nan was one of the leaders, but quit FFXI after a while, and gave his info to Non and Nen who continued to run MR until dispersing to DarkStatic and then remaking MR, etc.

When the LS broke they joined a LS called Darkstatic taking all the LS money etc with them

The ls didn't break at this time. We took the 16 people left and merged with Dark Static. That is why the ls fund went with us. Or maybe we were expected to split the ls fund among the people that left the ls? LS funds stay with the linkshell that generated the income to create the fund. MR didn't break we merged.
