That and as a NIN/DRK you can spike hate with souleater and have the PLD/NIN cure bomb you for his personal hate.

When you're at the cap, it's all about who acts more quickly. They're not putting out more overall hate, they're just casting every 5 seconds vs your 10. Spam Cure 1 over and over again and you'll probably have the same effect.

-imo- nin/drk is a better tank for most things than pld/nin. the problem is you need really good nin/drks, whereas pld/nin is more idiot proof. a pld/nin can make mistakes and it's no big deal. nin/drk makes too many mistakes and they die. this is why most LS just stick with plds now days. tons of ppl have it lvled and don't have to have it merited or geared very well to do a decent job. so it's a good solid tank you can rely on regardless of gear/skill (usually, lol).

I think you said it more correctly without the qualifiers about skill & idiot-proofing. PLD is so much cheaper than NIN both to level up and gear sufficiently to tank for an alliance that it's much easier to find a PLD/nin that can do it than a NIN/whatever. In our shell, generally our PLD/nin don't have other jobs, too. Our NINs do. So, we tend to get more mileage out of using the PLDs to tank and having the NINs on their other jobs. It's slowly changing. Our PLDs are getting other jobs and wanting to play them. When they do, our NINs tank.

What's really sad is that trying to get people to level DRK to 37 is so damn hard. DRK is an incredibly useful sub to have handy for so many mains. It's just not a staple sub for XP. ><

NIN/BRD was funny as hell. Having a tank party thats not even in the alliance, and 3 DD parties taking down the mob was pure gold. Too bad they killed nin/brd not even a month after my brd hit 37.
