i think matt moore is healthy, maybe they want to get him out there and just use vinny as a mentor for him? vinny doesnt really give a team a chance @ the post season, and if they somehow got there he wouldnt get them deep. if the season becomes a throw away, then playing matt moore would probably be the best option. havent really heard anything either way.

Mini Bio of Matt Moore:

Matt Moore is healthy. But he was an undrafted rookie before the season, did well in the Cowboys preseason, got released during the last round of cuts. He got picked up by the Panthers as a dirt-cheap option for emergency backup QB.

Matt Moore went to UCLA straight out of college, and lost the starting job. In 2005, he transferred to Oregon State, where he took over for (now Browns QB) Derek Anderson. Moore threw 7 touchdowns and 19 interceptions that year and threw 6 TD's in a home loss to Arizona, and broke his ankle in the second to last game. People were glad to see him benched only to see why he hadn't been benched; his backup was worse. The Beavers barely miss a bowl game at 5-6.

2006 comes, Oregon State starts off poorly, gets annihilated by California and loses to Washington State by a TD at home in a game where Moore throws multiple interceptions. People scream for his backup again (a freshman), they go up to Seattle to take on UW. Moore throws a couple of interceptions and gets benched only to see his backup do worse. UW is ahead 17-10 at the half.

I don't know what happens at halftime of the game, maybe he sold his soul to Satan in the locker room, but at that point, Matt Moore turns into a stud. After leading the Beavers to a 27-17 victory against UW, he then comes out and orchestates OSU's upset of USC the next week. For the rest of the season, Moore ends up leading the Beavs to an 8-1 record and a national top 25 ranking at the end of the year.

All that being said, I hear nothing but good things about what Moore's been doing in the NFL. I read a lot of reports of surprise that Moore was cut by the Cowboys. All that being said, he is an undrafted rookie, so unless the Panthers are writing this season off, I doubt you'll see a lot of him. And considering they're in the weak NFC and the even weaker NFC south, I don't expect them to be writing the season off any time soon.

Sorry for the dissertation, but Oregon State has had exactly 2 QB's in the NFL in the last 15 years, and Derek Anderson and Matt Moore are making us look not too bad right now.

Looking at the Seahawks's schedule for the rest of the year, it's ridiculously weak.

at CAR
vs BAL
at ATL

There's two games on that list against teams with winning records; they've already had their two toughest division games and their toughest non-conference games (CIN, PIT). Depending on how the CAR QB and PHI situations play out, I could see the Seahawks being favored in every game left.... they could easily end up with the #1 or #2 seed in the NFC (depending on the Cowboys' schedule) based on lack of competition.

Oh, I didn't realize that he didn't clear waivers; I thought the Cowboys had just cut him to sign someone else for the practice squad. That makes more sense.
