Found this on a Japanese Wiki page...

It's about Excenmille, but I don't know what it says. I'll post here hoping someone can translate, maybe it gives a bit more detail on him...?

I like the way it was done!
It's directly from the article, which apparently pulled from the history book or perhaps was given an official timeline of events from Square Enix.

There are other pages about Pankration and Assault, but nothing we don't know.

    There are other comics however:

it's really interesting that these JP didn't pick up on Zazarg and think the kid is Excenmille, but is any of the history here not in Elmer's other translations?

I apologize if this has been asked before or these are stupid ideas, but if we travel back to the Crystal War era, will our gil be obsolete back then? Also, since the monetary system wasn’t changed, could quests done in that time award noites, bynes, and shells?

Really interesting post. Is Excenmille from the Sandy missions? I don't recall him tbh.

I really doubt it. Jeuno used gil, and I'm sure no merchant back in time would turn it down.

Excenmille is an interesting theory, but I thought he was an adult during the war? I could of sworn he made his name as a Royal Knight or whatever during the war, but I may be mistaken >_>

Excenmille M. Aurchiat was born in 852. Apparently he was an exceptional fighter even in his youth. He also lost his father in the Battle of Xarcabard, so some story potential there.

Well that makes him almost exactly 10 when the Crystal War breaks out Maybe there is some truth to this, haha

I wonder if his father was the San d'Orian guy from the Multi-National Expedition (I forget his name)

Also, yeah I loved the besieged comics haha

Re: The Events of the Crystal War - WotG article

The Currency Union didn't happen until 4 years after the end of the war, so it's possible Jeuno will be the ONLY place gil can be used.

It's possible they could disregard that or at least be more accepting of gil as it is in Aht Urhgan, but that's a different situation; at present, gil has existed for more than 20 years. It makes sense that it would be more widely accepted due to the time that has passed and the fact that the east is specifically calling on adventurers, who use gil almost exclusively.

If they do allow gil in other nations, it's probable it will be on a limited basis.

Since this is SE we're talking about, they'll probably only take ancient currency. But they won't give you any when you sell an item, and the mobs don't drop it, and quests don't give it.

By the way, why is ancient currency so ancient? 20 years isn't ancient.

I know the whiteshells date about ~300 C.E., bronzepieces at ~500 C.E., but Byne Bills as late as 857 C.E.

(Interesting note, all Byne Bills share the same date, however bronzepieces are around 500 C.E., silverpieces 600 C.E., and goldpieces 830 C.E. Whiteshells also get progressively older, starting at ~300 C.E., jadeshells at ~400 C.E., and stripeshells at ~700 C.E.)

So at least some of it is ancient? lol
