Um, wow, is she stupid? Last I checked, Christians don't believe Jews go to heaven. You have to accept Jesus Christ as lord and savior of your life to go to heaven. Once you do that, you aren't a Jew anymore...

I don't care to associate with Ann Coulter, however I had to comment on this. Christians, from everyone I've heard (read: non-fanatics) believe that everything the Jews know is true. Jews are Gods chosen people, Christianity is Gods way to reaching out to everyone, not just a single race. But that doesn't change the fact that Jews are Gods chosen people, they can still get to heaven following what God has told them is necessary, it's just...easier I guess...following Christian scripture.

Edit: Just had to comment: But she's basically just someone with an opinion, right? I'm sure there are LOTS of people, especially on this forum lol, who believe all of religion should be abolished, which is just as wrong, possibly even moreso than what Ann Coulter's basic line is (the one in the title of this thread). The only time having such an opinion is a "problem" is if you are in a political or judicial position and let your opinion sway your vote.

I read in the paper that some airport manager got suspended for hanging up a picture of jesus in the staff room. A muslim colleague made a complaint against him and got him suspended. Now i'm not religious at all but if i was christian i think i might be offended seeing muslim women walk around the workplace with there faces covered up. Yet I can't hang a picture of a man in the staff room.

The funny thing is, both Jews and Muslims acknowledge Jesus as a prophet of God and regard him in a Holy manner... but (radical) Christians do not regard Muhammed or Abraham nearly the same way. To those kinds of Christians, Jesus is the only path to heaven. Interesting enough, I think it's neat that while the fundamental teachings of every religion (Judaism, Christianity, and Muslim) ask for tolerance of all other religions regardless of belief, the people who practice them always take it out of context and condemn other people.

Ann Coulter can't really call herself a Christian... because any of us would tell you that Christianity is far from perfect. The only people who really believe that are the same people who go to Church every week and sing Rock versions of "Nearer My God" while slapping people in the forehead and screaming "Death to Faggots".

As much as I have faith as a Catholic, I'm really more middle of the road than anything. I accept all religions and you know, even if people believe science is the prevailing philosophy I would rather spend my life with the faith that there is a purpose than be some piece of shit pessimist who takes up nihilism and tries to be totally scientific about the fate of the world.

Science is great and all, but seriously... fuck science. Science doesn't teach people to be more reverent of the planet and other people. Religion does. People just take the shit out of context and start adopting it as if they're the herald of God or something, and that's what makes it unappealing. The idea of religion is to spread the philosophy and touch the people... not convert as many as you can to the church. If our job was to convert people to our religion... then we wouldn't have been given free will.

And honestly, what the hell? The only difference between Jews and Christians is that Christians believe Christ was the Messiah while the Jews believe he was only a prophet. Who gives a flying fuck? Shit, Muslims even believe in the Torah and the Bible as guidelines in life and that Muhammed was the prophet. So Jews and Muslims even believe the same thing (both are descended from Hammurabi's Code, and both believe that the new Messiah has not yet arrived... both just have different prophets).

People are just so damned obsessed with being 'right' that they take the fun and beauty out of life. Everything's gotta be so perfect you know?

It's sad to say... but she's technically right. If you're a Christian, it's your duty to speak of the Bible and attempt to "win" people over to your "side." It actually says that in the bible, just differently. Now if you apply that to what she's saying, she's not saying anything out of context in regards to the Bible.

No, if everyone ignored Ann Colter, she would shrivel up and die. Like when she said that John Edwards had an affair on his wife quoting that award-winning journal of record, the National Enquirer. No, a Muslim woman wearing a burka would be similar to a Christian person wearing a cross. The more apt comparison would be if an airport manager put up a pentagram in the staff room. Try to deny that the usual talking heads would not be throwing fits all over TV and talk-radio because "that heathen is trying to turn god-fearing Christians into Satanists". It is absolutely ridiculous to think that religious iconography is not going to inflame people from a different religion, just because a particular religion is the majority does not mean that their iconography is any less inflammatory.
