Never say never!
lol wtf
0/61 on Gugrusaurus now.![]()
Smallest I've seen is 610, largest is in the 800s, Average from what I've seen is mid 700's. I fished up about 7 total averaging between 0-1 per appropriate boat ride. I went 6 straight newtpool boat rides with 0 catches, that was annoying as hell. Some guy named Muu or Muuz was also bazaaring some in selbina and he had some 800+ monsters lol. I've bazaar sold a few on my selbina mule Riddaraan ranging from 75k-200k depending on the weight. I have one left and I'm not going back out to fish them, it was such a waste.
Awesome, hope my 633 one gets top 20 <.<
Bought it for 100k from that Muu guy, then sold it back on the AH for 45k haha, 55k is totally worth the pelican ring, and lol at the idiots buying from AH.
edit: Fishing 76, aiming for 78 today or tomorrow hopefully, and depending on whats for gp today will probably get the 95k >.> off by one freaking dayoh well
Lol ya the one I gave my lsmate for free I asked for back after he traded it in and immediatly sold it on the ah for 50k. I've made abot 400-500k off selling them which is decent I guess, atleast it covers the gps, but I could have made more off liks. Going to try my first brigand's chart today/tonight!
Speaking of the contest: We have lightest Armored Pisces on Midgard. I hate these damn things, at 62 I need to use an albatross ring to lands them ; ;. Lowest weight I have so far is 280, I don't know if that'll be a winner but I haven't really seen many folks down here. I hope I get lucky![]()
0/101 liks
0/155 gugs
only 1st ID, my 2nd ID havent started
this is already becoming zzzzzzzzzzzzzz for me atm
moglification + 101 aura strength?
Last night during full moon:
1.2 levels of skill WITH ring, caught 38 ahtapots, 34 Dil, 38 Merc.
so, 110 total fish, average of .1 skillup every 9 or so fish.
The contest on Phoenix this month is biggest Grimmonite. I'd never fished these before because I felt like SSG was just too big of a pain, but I went down there several times this weekend. I have two questions:
Setup
I use my Lu and a shrimp lure. I stand at the lake at J-12 on the first map (link here). I seem to catch a lot of nebs, which is annoying even though the money is okay. I'm also able to bring in a handful of breams and grims, both of which can skill me up. Is there a better way/place/bait to target these and ignore the nebs?
Results
Various places show the upper limit on grims to be about 850. In the hundred or so I've caught so far, the biggest one I have is about 750. It's making me nervous that I'm 15% away from the big ones. The next biggest one I have caught is less than 650. So is my luck bad? Is it unrealistic to go for the 850 ones? Any suggestions on how to get my hands on one if I'm really going to need a gigantic one?
Thanks!
Grimmonites are pretty easy to get, so you should expect a lot of competition. I really doubt that 750 will get you on the top 20, unless your server has like no competition at all.
If cap is 850, on a common fish like that, I'd probably try to aim for at least 815~20ish for a decent chance, but i dunno.
Sorry can't really give any advice on catching them. You could try canceling the nebos?
Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. The good thing about a contest fish like grimms is that I can catch them easily. The bad thing about it is that everyone else can catch them, too, lol.
Cancelling the nebs honestly doesn't seem worth it, because they're SO easy to catch. I can get them down to 90% on the first swing of the rod, usually. They reel in so quickly that cancelling wouldn't effectively save me much time at all. And since they stack, inventory doesn't take too big of a hit.
Can you turn in fish for the contest that you buy from the AH? I could just buy them en masse and relist the tiny ones. Would lose some gil, but not a ton.
Yes, you can buy from the AH. If the one you bought was already entered and has [Ranking:X] you obviously can't re-enter it.
I just got my lu shangs so I got excited to finally move onto these. (I'm a bonecrafter, planning to go 86-96 on these) But when I got there.. are they supposed to hook so rarely? I'm fishing on a bridge, I'm using Lu Shangs + Robber Rig, and my fishing skill is only 43. I'm getting like 2-4 "You didn't catch anything." messages in between every hook while only about every 3 hooks results in a trumpet shell. ;-;
Am I doing something wrong or is this how it's supposed to be? At this rate it's going to take me 25 hours to reach cap..
I think you're just hitting one of those random bad stretches, like I complained about (quite a few pages back now) happening to me in Nashmau. I went fishing for Trumpet Shells yesterday for the hell of it, mostly to see whether it could be decent profit, because 25k/stack looked pretty good. The overall bite rate was fine, getting nothing was quite rare. However, the number of bites that were actually Trumpet Shells was pretty low, I eventually started cancelling every catch that wasn't a Trumpet (easy to tell by the depletion rate, Trumpets are very slow). Even doing that, it's not a very good place to fish for profit, but the skillup might be alright if you're patient.
So uh...you guys hear what happened to Urat?
