All Right! Today I got Fishing Hole Map, thus completing my full Moglification: Fishing :D Last thing I'll get is Mooching...though for now gonna focus on leveling up from 92.

Since Gugrusauri on my server were only 15k each, I was fishing up Trumpet Shells for gil so I could buy them (My reasoning being that I thought I could make more gil per hour than I could fishing gugrus up, so it was the most economical strategy). Of course, when I was ready to start buying, they went back up to 20k.

And now it's at 30k, and there are a couple of people on our server desperate enough to keep buying them all out.

orz I'm sure it will go back down to 20k, since that seems to be the average on all servers, but until them, I'm going to have to wait my turn...

trust me, its better to fish and buy at same time. 1 gugs catch (usually can get 1-2 in the 12 mins ride anyway) can easily beat your 1 stack of trumpet shells + an extra fish to turn in

MORE EBISU RAGE Neh, actually enjoying these hyper slow skill ups @ lvl 84... while I save up GP for Rumors. D: I'd like to ask, what do you all recommend I fish when I finally hit 90?

Cap at 99 in Nash while working on Ebisu. Then you can do 99-100 on CCs and stay there forever for gil.

to sho: 90-98 do pterygotus at nashmau. you can try fo 99 but 98-99 is going to be mad slow........

try 98-100 at liks, insane skill ups, i got at least 4 x 0.3 there from 98-100

Awesome, sounds like a plan(s) for me. Glad you both agree on doing Pterygotus; I wa sa tad worried about fishing those. Can do CCs while I'm solo and Liks when I'm with my friend (She can fix my rods).

you can get 6-10 pterygotus only per pelican tho. on average i would say 8, but be persistent as here is prolly the most consistent skill ups you can get

1x signboard: 10 aura strength
10x cabinet: 10 x 9 aura strength
1x big one: 5 aura strength

moghancement: fishing skill
105 strength
big one making it moglification

i believe signboard is must, as its 10 strength so cabinet wont interfere

big one: 5 strength
water jug x 35 : 3 x 35 strength?

thats just moghancement, just skill +3(?)

you need signboard for moglification, to get the penguin deplete bonus

Eh, not necessarily, considering my circumstances.

I only have 1 penguin ring, so I'd have to work on getting another to make fishing worthwhile (i.e. not having to miss every other boat to ensure I have the enchantment for the whole boatride). That would mean having to invest more time into fishing marlin/doing brigand's chart quest. Plus, since there are not bluetail on AH atm, or the few that do show up sell quickly, I'd have to fish those up for bait as well.

Also factor in that I have to use my bro's account to repair my lu shang, so I can only have him ride the boat with me when he isn't busy doing other things.

Finally, Trumpet Shells were 25k a stack, while gugrus were only 15k each; it would probably work out to even gil/hour whichever one you did, so it just made more sense to fish the thing that was less trouble, and required less time investment for preparation. Of course, now that those prices have changed, yes, it would be better to fish gugrus, so I'll probably try and get another penguin ring soon.

get brigand chart + 200 marlins before you begin a run to almost guarantee a penguin ring (provided you can get at least 2-3 charts from the 200 marlins, should not be a problem)

Yeah, I did that a while back to get the penguin ring I have now. Had a chart + 279 marlin, held the pugil between charts, etc.

Next time I do it, though, I'm going to get a chart for both myself and my brother's character, plus all those marlin, and do the quest while holding the pugil.

Also, just bought 55 gugrusauri, so going to turn those in tomorrow during full moon (for what it's worth) and maybe get that saber shoot. I wouldn't mind the fact that I would have to wait 7 days to get the rod.
