ferry will be better since you can HQ them often with that lvl of bonecraft i guess

It's ok, I have flawless planning! I'll just fish with my friend. He just happens to be a whm who could use those pirate NM's clubs, a woodworker who would love to have a plentiful supply of broken lu shangs, and a fisher who's currently skilling up off nebs.

Since I got my Ebisu about a week or so ago, I've been trying Cave Cherax in Quicksand Saves whenever I get the chance. Seems to be an average of 6-7 casts for 1 Cave Cherax, even though they sell for 1600~ I think it's slower gil/hr than fishing in Nash where the bite rate is much higher, although obviously you have the potential to earn more per day if you cap out on Cave Cheraxs.
Is the bite rate any higher in Kuftal Tunnel? I kinda don't want to sneak fish though...

Since I got my Ebisu about a week or so ago, I've been trying Cave Cherax in Quicksand Saves whenever I get the chance. The bite rate is probably lower in Kuftal, but maybe that was because I spent most of my time fighting mobs. I was doing multiple stuff tho, getting buffer and breaking nyzul latent on my thf, while skilling fishing and farming for angel skin at the same time.

However, since you don't need any fishing skill to fish up mantas, beware of idiotic noobs there. (I caught like 3 mantas in a "row" (not back to back, like 10 min or w/e in-between) and they started calling me cheater and threatening to GM me. Yeah, I was sitting there, pulling up every mob that I caught, even when the "window" wasn't open, and I'm the cheater.)

manta fishers never did anything in the game that took more then like 4min. its sorta funny they call you a cheater when you have the fishing rod that takes over a year if not longer to get.

I do not fish down there anymore(even though the gil is ok ) just because of how many manta fisher there are. the 300k a day would be worth it, but Lik/gugs are in such high demand atm i have no reason whatsoever to fish them.

It's worse when you have nubs there who fail so hard they actually manage to lose their catch whenever they hook a manta and you have to wait over an hour between spawns. I used to fish mantas exclusively for gil. I'd say there used to be an average of maybe 6 people there. I sometimes spent hours as the only person there and sometimes there were no less than 10 people. But I have a feeling it got much worse with the last gobby bag update. Angel skins were never as high as they are now. ~.~

I believe you are right, Deadguy, in regards to the gavial fish synth. the reason I think of it as being a desynth is because an NQ synth is essentially a loss. I leveled BC back in the Christmas '05 inflation and paid 20k/fish so i just remember it sucking, horribly (i made bank later on so no complaints). 350k stacks of Titanictus shells sure were fun.

In regards to the overwhelming aura thing - i really don't notice an immediate difference with powerful, sadly, and cabinets are so damn ugly i can barely stand to look at them. If anyone wants to give them a more thorough try, by all means do so.

iv found out that they are never dead. People do not buy them to much on my server too(from the AH) as for the most part you never see more then 20 on there.

I tend to find people who need the quest and sell to them in bulk for 14~15k each depending how many they buy at a time.

See a guy fishing lik with a lu shang's? why not ask him if he plans to buy some at any point?

Lu shang sucks fishing. you get like 100% more gugs/lik with a E rod then you do with a Lu shang.

SE does really need to add something to fishing end game* like them mant fish that are a pain in the ass to fish. make it worth our time to fish them. Make a item we can gut thats so good that its a must have. Like that dagger that goes for 4mil ~_~;

why are all the good quests for fishing low lvl come on SE!

Anyone got any tips for manta fishing? Like, any way to tell mantas apart from pugils/crabs? Thinking of maybe not fishing up random mobs so I can focus more on skilling up.

Also: If you catch a manta, and let it go, does it reset the timer or w/e? Cause if so, epic lulz if I start letting go every mob and only go after cave cherax

Congrats man, my lsmate who I've been helping finally got opal silk today as well. I think he ended like 1/798 or something. Either way he'll get Ebisu on Sunday and fishing contest is over tonight woot.
