i barely fish more than 50 gugs per day per ID now ; ;

How long does it takes you to fish 50 of these?

I went fishing today on the ferry for about two hours. I reeled in 13 Gugrus, then I can't even catch anything else, not even rusty or smaller fish (it's the first time I fish for anything today). My recast time became really long. I fish once every two to three days. Not sure why it happens.

Here's my equip: Ebisu, Penguin/Albatross, 107 skills and moghancement: fishing with overwhelming water energy.

i get 8-10 gugs per 1 hour on 1 ID. on average i would say 8. 10 in a perfect day

sometimes 1 ride i get 5 catches w/o line break, ad sometimes i go 5 catches with 4 line breaks :\ pretty random

so thats 20 gugs in 1 hour

i fish about 5 hours a day (sometimes jaggered timings like when arth do events, i will still fish on wife hehehe)

so i am almost fishing with at least 1 ID whenever im logged in.

I don't understand why I capped out so fast. Any ideas? I used to fish up a lot more than 13 a day.

i dont think will cap if only fish liks or gugs a day

since their bite rate is extremely lowwwww i would say 20 mins(timespan of a ring) the average catch is 2-3

sometimes you can go unlucky like 1 catch and line break in 20 mins, and then you can go 4 back to back lik/gugs

I bought some insect paste and went to Port Sandy, didn't get a single bite in 20 minutes. ;-;

Last week, I caught 26 Gugrus before I hit the cap of the day. I've been taking a break from fishing for crafting.

I tried looking for information regarding fatigues, I can't really find any through the search function here. What I understand is, that there's a 200 fish cap per real life day. In my experience, when I'm within 20 fish from the cap, it would take 3-4 tries to fish again due to the long recast time.

I remember reading something about having a 10 fish cap when your character is under level 20 and you haven't log in for a certain amount of time (not sure how long). Maybe someone on this forums can shed some light into this.

December 9, 2008 Update notes:

"The amount of fishing fatigue incurred has been increased for characters below level 20, and for characters for whom less than two weeks have elapsed since their first login. In addition, the quest-related items, "Ripped Cap," and "Fat Greedie," will be easier to catch for players meeting certain conditions."

No, I'm fishing this on my main. Those were just the reasons I found why there would be such a low cap. I'm not qualify for either of those reasons.

I've fished 50 ebisu fish a day on a single character numerous times and never fatigued in any way different than normal fish.

Best way to see if you're fatigued if you're 100 + ebisu + testimonial (not sure what the exact requirements are) is to take an insect paste to knightswell where the bite rate is 100%. If you don't get a bite on your first cast then you're fatigued

In my experience ebisu fish don't fatigue you any faster. I could verify or prove it with logs if need be. There have been days where i've done a large amount of ebisu fish then fished to fatigue on other things, and i think i still hovered around 200 total.

Hopefully this will be less relevant w/ the coming update though!

HI 86 fisherman here, could use alittel advise on what rute to take now
my plan where to go for Ahtapot>Dil>Pterygotus>Armored pisces

but the thing is the only thing i can isolate is the armored pisces
and i'm really just after skillup and don't really care about the gil
anymore lol so would lover some input from ppl who have been there

ps don't have any plan's to go for Ebisu

You could do black sole instead of dil, they are isolated with sinking minnow in qufim. I've noticed a few people not caring for them in this thread but I liked them just fine...skill may have been a bit slow but you make decent gil from them as well (I always just npc'd, flooding the already flooded AH seemed meh). Pterygotus is another one you can do, never fished myself but they are isolated from lugworms in nashmau.
