Question: what exactly did the last Ebisu update do (the one before this most recent one)? Raise the fish-per-day cap to over 200? Decrease fatigue or something? Or just make it easier to reel in the higher level fish?

How the fuck are you getting 500k?

I'm 99 fishing and I can only get 150k a day max.

I assume he's fishing up 30-40 lik/gugs a day and selling them. Even at 15k, multiply that by 30 and you have 450k. I've been on Liks since level 90, 99 now, and have sold every single one.

Not sure what the problem with black sole is, I always had about a 25% catch rate except on very rare days and nashmau was always worse. Granted, I am on a low population server, they can definitely be fished out. By the way, if you fish there go to the south coast. The coast where you catch gigant squids is its own fishing zone.

On another note, a friend just bought a big one and all the water jugs for overwhelming energy. It is giving him Moghancement: Fishing. Lolwiki indicates it should be Moghancement: Fishing Skill. Help text changed? I can confirm that water jugs and the big one is all he has.

Have him check his key item in the menu. I also have moghancement: fishing, but when I check it in key items it says increased fishing skill.

I caught 38 gugrus on and off through out the day, 20k a fish, that's 760k right there.

the problem with liks is the issue of demand. when they're in high demand, i can easily make 600k in 3.5 hours of fishing, by alexander prices. but when there's no buyers out there, you end up sitting on 30-40 liks for a couple weeks. i normally list one after my excursion, if it sells within 6-8 hours, then i load the AH (21 available slots to jeuno/aht urgan AH), and normally they'll sell within 24. coolest feeling as a fisherman tho, as i had listed 7 on my main, and i went to get a stack of silent oils out of my in-box, and all 7 had sold in the walk from the tav AH to the nomad moogle.

also, and this is a huge difference... alexander, which can be a bitchy, undercutting (like someone dropped repeating crossbows from 38k to 20k in two days b/c his xbows weren't selling) server, but fishermen fishing the rarer fish seem to know that they'll sell, and quickly, and even when the AH is flooded (which is rare), JPs and NAs both keep the price up.

i'll try to gut my inventory tomorrow when i get home and hit ssg. better bite rate than qufim, and due to the high neb bite rate, should be easier to count if 1) ebisu allows for more than 200 fish, and 2) if it affects the "soft fatigue" requiring you to zone periodically.

Only been fishing about an hour and 20 mins so far, but reeled in12 Liks, had 2 line breaks, and feeling a bit of fatigue between re-casts. So with an incredibly small sample size, the only change I feel so far is less line breaks on Liks. I know my overall bite rate seems a bit high for 80 minutes, but the guy next to me isnt getting nearly as many bites and he's also using an ebisu, so I'm guessing that's just luck.

edit: few breaks in a row, as I sadly expected, it's evening itself out lol

Whoever mentioned the "soft fatigue" requiring you to zone periodically, I was under the impression that was removed during the 200 limit patch. I can personally say that I have stayed in one zone for the entire duration of my 200 fish.

not having the same experience. 1 hour at liks had 9 bites with 4 snaps and 5 catches. 3 boat rides got me 4, 4, and 3 bites with 4 line snaps and 7 catches. Pretty average. Capped skill, ebisu, etc.


Of course you may be trying to hike the value of ebisu and ebisu fish and I might be shooting myself in the foot......but so far I cant see a change at all.

Personally I was hoping for ebisu users to be able to catch more fish after patch.

Just fatigued at my regular 207. (Ever sense I got ebisu I usually fatigue just over 200) completely fatigued now no doubt, so I guess I was wrong about what the update would do.

I noticed no strength upgrade while fighting the fish..

Who knows.
