Nothing special as far as bite rates go for liks. It's new moon so its higher than usual...but yea.. this is bizarre.

still sucks on liks but definately noticable for me on gugs

average per ride is now 3-5

usually i get 1-3

I'm assuming you guys are still having to use both rings to catch these? If that ever changes, the bottom truly will fall out. That damned penguin ring is the only reason I have not fished those things.

I'm 99 fishing and I can only get 150k a day max.

very basic math my friend. For the last month I have been selling lik.

if i was to not be a lazy ass after events i could fish easy 30 a day. at around 15k each you get it now? after you fish lik you can always go back and do some NPC fish. its what i do net around 100k a day in npcs always and any lik i get. not hard

i definately felt very slightly easier on gugru tbh but that could be just me

before yesterday, my fishing rate of gugs is 7/10, 3 being lost catch with only albatross ring and all other 7 catch is "not enough time" and get it in time

today i havent lost a catch yet, and i only see 2-3 times not enough time......and thats because im dual boxing liks but still managed to reel them in

that could also be because im using my single core PC today to fish while im updating my duo and quad core PC, but i do adjust all PCs to 16-18 fps when fishing.so i dont see different core an issue here

Bleh. Sounds like Ebisu wasn't updated at all, in any meaningful or measurable way. But maybe the maintenance will ninja it or something. I probably would have resubbed if Ebisu was given a noticeable boost. C'est la SE.

Did 3 trips using some leftover meatballs..

I was getting at least 3 bites per trip. Not as good as Arthars but better than before. Not sure how well it'll be on a full fishing session.

Just did this while fishing for titanictus for GP's, pirate's attacked and a gug bit. I didn't even get to the warning message of running out of time. I know Arthars does this on a regular basis but last time I tried (96 skill) I didn't have a chance. 99 skill, ebisu, only albatross.

I believe much earlier in the thread Minions or someone posted it, have yet to try myself. On the topic of ebisu, I just got it Sunday but had no chance to use it, so I have only used it post patch. I am noticing that it is a good deal easier to reel in Lik, and I can do it without using any rings at all. Just curious if anyone else has noticed this about ebisu, as many people in game told me that it was simply an unbreakable Lu.

the gugrusaurus on the ship to whitegate-nashmau bite very often and are very easy to real in with both rings ( If you lag your pc too). Idk why nobody fish them there. I think I get like 4 per ride out of 7-8 catches when I fish them. But my luck with Ebisu quest sucks and people don't want to buy them on the AH so I gave up on them.

the only reason why pirate's ferry is easier is because of the natural lag pirate ride cause...dipping your FPS realllllllll down

and yes, if you can get your PC to always work like that, aka tweaking the cpu with grabber to always meet that fps, you can always reel in alzahbi's gugs with ease like pirate ferry

I guess this might account for the previous reports of them being easier, although I personally do not get any sort of lag due to pirates lol. That said, lowering FPS does sincerely aid in catching legendary fish.

I was using cpukiller to get myself down to about 20FPS, when pirate's came on my side of the boat it dropped to like 12 FPS, I had to switch to the other side so I wasn't lagging too badly.

And honestly, maybe I suck at fishing, but even slowing down my pc, I have an incredibly rough time catching Liks with just an albatross (I'm level 84 now), and sometimes when they're being incredibly fucking bitchy, I somewhat often fail to even bring them up.

always have to tweak if you wanna fish well

eg.
1. with small monster, it wont cause any dip in FPS
2. with kraken, you will notice your FPS going down slightly
3. with pirate, your FPS go down dramatically
4. with someone beside you, you will notice your FPS going down slightly
5. if you fish on "safe" spot, aka on top of stairs next to captain's cabin, you will notice dip in FPS slightly due to propeller
6. some places where "island" start to load up at different part of the ride, FPS can also go down slightly
7. if you dont wanna always tweak your FPS, find a good camera angle + fishing spot and stick to it.

many factors so you cant stick to the same killer/grabber meter. You have to tweak them accordingly

the best fishing FPS is always 15-17

anything more or less will be slightly tougher, but fishing at 10 FPS or 29 FPS will definately be the toughest of all, and im sure your going to lose 98% of the ebisu fishes w/o penguin

dont be too disheartened..liks are a bitch, they are either VERY easy, or VERY tough..can be unlucky sometimes.

I find gugs easier due to the lesser rod movement, BUT pissed at its long idle..there are some gugs where you cannot fish w/o penguins as well.....those that doesnt like to move your rods and theres nothing you can do in the 45 sec really...these are the penguin gugs, i call them but only happen once in 20 times i'd say

Well, finished up Einherjar and went to test if the open sea route gugs were harder than the pirate ones. I just pulled up 3 straight Gugs on the Whitegate>Mhaura open sea route with ebisu, 99 skill, +3 paid support, +5 gear/furniture, and ONLY Albatross. As I said before, I know some people have been able to do this, but I'm doing it without even seeing the warning message and when I tried this as 96 skill level I didn't have a chance, was timing out at 40%ish.

I'm not sure if it's simply the 3 levels of skill I've obtained since I last tried, or the update is helping.

edit: I can try without paid support and see if it makes them unfishable like they were when I tried at 96 with support. Will try this tomorrow if there's interest.
