I really did hope this time they would be doing something craptacular to Ebisu. It is stupid to have a "relic rod" that is almost the same as the Lu. Geeeeez.

imo, all they need to do to make Ebisu really good is add more fish that will always break a Lu's
make these NPC for decent gil/day (assuming fishing to cap), and/or part of some high demand recipies and it would be massivly ahead of lu's

Quite often. I skilled up WW from 73 to 80 before getting my first opal silk. Don't know how often it would break but I'd need 2 stacks of crystals for about 30 or so liks.

One thing I noticed last night is that my recast delay didn't really increase from fatigue until I was near maxing out when fishing gugrusaurus.

It also looks like gugrus don't cause as much fatigue allowing you to catch more. However, that could have just been a lucky night, we will have to see if this becomes consistent.

Comment and a question: in my experience with my Lu, when I was fishing in SSG and catching a ton of nebs, I would hit the first level of fatigue around the 100-120 catch mark. So about halfway to the cap. My question is do the larger fish/legendaries operate on a different cap than the 200-fish-limit? Do you normally fatigue out faster going after Liks and Gugrusauruses?

I am curious about this as well. When fishing for NPC fish, Ahtapots and Mercanbaligis, I start to hit the first level of fatigue around 160 but I always cap at 200.

Your hard cap is the same 200-215 no matter what you're fishing (Liks and Gugrus are included here, but maybe not coral?).

No, you cannot fish up 200 gugru/lik a day due to time restrictions. but in combination with other fish the hard cap will remain unchanged

Its not really fatigue thats stopping you from getting lots of Gugrusaurus in one day. It's really just the amount of time it take to get the bites/reel them in. I'm pretty sure Gugrusaurus/lik do not fatigue you anymore than other fish as there have been days I caught 20 Gugrusaurus then later that night I went to Talacca and caught ~180 fish still.

Yup. Like Arthars, there have been days where i have fished 50 or so Gugru and Lik. It takes close to 10 hours..i could check some logs to get a more exact time.. but w/e. either way its physically not possibly to get 200 in a day. However in combination with other things you will fatigue at the same number of fish

Just tried some more Gugrusaurus fishing after the ebisu update. I do notice that they are slightly easier to real in but I am not seeing the amazing bite rate that one of the posters raved about. Last night I tried but it was fullmoon and I usually got horrible bite rates at that phase. Right now its around 60% and I am getting 1-2catches per ferry ride.

on my server no one buys Gug or Lik from AH. Lik hasn't sold on Ragnarok AH since July 6th.

Do you guys bazaar them somewhere?

it's not due to time restrictions. the number i listed is caught gugrus, not bites. you will lose many to line snaps. sharks bite too making you reach cap faster. you will fatigue well before the day is over.
