Grats man! I'm jealous. I'm 93.x and I just got for 0.1 a day... normally it takes me about 100 fish to get it, too... but I'm well on my way to catch up!

Thanks! I did 90-100 all off Liks, I full timed Pelican's when I had charges and the skill ups were pretty darn decent. 90-95 was fast as hell, 95-97 was quite a long dry spell, but 97-100 when I got a new Pelican's was also quite quick.

I think it was painless because I had constant LSmate buyers for most of the fish, selling for 10-15k per fish. During my 90+ conquest 2 lsmates finished Ebisu with my help, and another member is 1/2 item wise. Somehow they all managed to get lucky as hell on Gugs but stuck for awhile on Liks. One of the lsmates was 1/795 on Liks so you can imagine where most of them went lol.

All in all, I guesstimate I made about 7m from the 90+ push. My master plan luckily worked out perfectly, blast to 78 with Lu skilling up as fast as possible on the Nashmau route, ding into Ebisu, Talacca to 90, 90-100 Liks paying off the Ebisu investment cost and profit profit profit to buy a kraken.

i know this is being bold for such assumption

but i can almost confirm that ebisu depletes stamina rate slightly faster after the "boost"

dont have to ask why and how right? this is based on own experience for 2 weeks pre patch and 1 week post patch on gugs

Agreed, I'm killing cave cherax notably faster. Its about on par with the moglification boost it seems.

On another note, these cave cherax sure aren't biting well today D:<

Edit: also read on some ~ahem~ websites that the IDs of legendaries have been changed to the same ID that the penguin ring ID had, and the penguin ID has been increased...

In other words, the ebisu gives us a penguin ring effect that stacks with the real penguin ring, but only seems to be for certain legendaries...

I kinda wanna go do a lik with moglification, full gear, penguin ring, new ebisu and guild support :O

I also dinged into Ebisu at 78ish and made millions skilling off legendaries only post 90. Definitely not stupid by any means, the sooner you can get it the better imo.

I just started my Lu Shang rod quest, now that a lot of my other ingame "projects" are coming to a close, I'm finally doing what I've long wanted to do. 126/10,000 so far...

Getting a lushangs and starting the ebisu quest were the two best decisions I made while playing FFXI, DEFINATELY not for everyone. Now if they add more cool items that can be obtained from "inside the belly" or another pirate chart quest.

people who are commited started early and got paid off

we started at 90ish, which is pretty late tbh, but still got anyway

there are people who insist on fishing all for their rod, will obviously be slower due to the wtf rate

the starting point is different but the end is the same

unless that dude has an aegis, but lvl 20 PLD, that will be the real "wtf"

That's silly. My view is you get items in the order of their "game breakingness." Ebisu obviously comes first in the fishing world. I just got Apron yesterday and wished I would have just saved another 100k for moghouse signboard instead, it doesn't seem as helpful as I hoped. I'll do signboard next, then feet.

Well the people who do pick on me, outside of Max who picks on me for everything ;_ ;. Have 100 fishing, so I'll just blame jealousy.

I got my saber shoot around lvl 79, then my opal silk at 83 and ebisu at 86. Nashmau is very generous with skillups.

As a non-fisher I have no clue if that is normal, I figured it would be like getting a Bravura before you capped your Great Axe skill and merited it... guess not?

Ebisu is pretty easy for most, average cost on my server if you bought all the fish is like 7m, and that is high. Of course there's always the chance it will cost you 30m+....

I agree. My ebisu set me back about 3.5mil. Even though it sucks to see people who go 30m+, it's a nice and steady pay cheque for me.

Do you need the key item from the guild to get the Key Items from Zaldon? Obviously, you need it to even get the fish to bite on your rod, but, if you were buying the fish, can you theoretically get the rod without having reached the level of fishing skill required to buy the key item?
