so basically, just go for albatross and forget about penguins ring after ebisu?
Thanks for the reply.
so basically, just go for albatross and forget about penguins ring after ebisu?
Thanks for the reply.
with the ebisu update i believe it is alot easier to get in gugs now with improved stamina depletion
line breaks are just unlucky
definately alot lesser "lack of skill" too
yea albatross pretty much u need at 100 skill + ebisu
thank god SE made them 100%
i cannot imagine life w/o albatross really
burn alot more brain cells. need massive focus!
Just tried gugrusaurus fishing for the first time since the update, I think.
At 85, with albatross+penguin, I've been reeling them in A LOT easier compared to pre-update. I'm only 85 though, so I'm not sure if I should risk doing this without penguin's :/ I also finally got my 2nd penguin's this morning, so I figured, what else am I going to use my penguin on?
I dunno, I guess I could replace penguin with pelican and hope for some skillup lol. I think I'll try that next boat ride, see how it goes.
edit: Trying out with Pelican instead, caught first one right after the 5sec warning, was a bit bitchy. Caught second one without any trouble at all relatively quickly >_> Definite noticing this on gugrus, although I can't say the same for Liks. Guess I'll start using my penguins for liks? lol :/
I was as surprised as you are! I thought that the 112 marlin might land me one more chart, two if I was lucky. I didn't keep as strenuous a record as I usually do, but 112 marlin gave me 7 charts, averaging 16 marlin per chart! This all occurred during between 48-52% waxing, too, if that makes any difference.
The last time I did this, I had one chart on myself, and 273 marlin. Out of those 273 marlin, I only managed to get 3 more charts (91 marlin per chart) during new moon.
I had no idea I was going to get so many rings yesterday, but I'm so happy I can start fishing up my own gugrus! The price JUST went back down to 20k each on Carbuncle, so maybe if it falls a little bit more, I can fish and buy at the same time.
One quick question: I'm sure it's been covered already, and after I ask this, I might go scrounging around for the answer. On a good PC, with albatross/penguin, is it possible to reel in gugrus 100% of the time, or would I need to slow down my computer to 20FPS as well (at least, I think 20FPS was the optimal range people mentioned)?
Just got both charts after turning in roughly 32 marlins. Got Brigands on the 25th, and Pirates on the 32nd.
29 FPS fishing with penguin + alba is the same as fishing with 16 FPS
if you fish gugs with 29 FPS w/o penguin...chances are still low to deplete it
First trip out fishing gugrus tonight, here's what I came up with.
Spoiler: show
If I recall correctly, when I fished Liks during full moon, I would pull in on average 2-3 Liks per ring charge, so I was a bit disappointed with how gugrus turned out. Of course, the last trip NOT during full moon kind of throws off my average (fishing 4 gugrus on that trip).
Despite having Moglification (with overwhelming water energy), +4 fishing skill, fishing apron, penguin/albatross, AND getting between 16-18 FPS, 90% of the time I would get the "running out of time" message. I'm not sure if that's normal for someone in my position, or if there's anything else I can do to fish up gugrus faster. All I can say is they require my full attention to fish up at the moment, which sorta sucks because I like watching ST:TNG episodes while I fish other things D: Can't do that with gugrus...they require my full attention.
Could try for lower FPS (or go at 30FPS to compare how much more difficult it is, since I haven't tried fishing without low FPS), but not sure if I want to obsess over optimizing my reeling ability. for the most part, I can reel in all of the bites, but they are damn hard, and always take me the full time allotted.
Haven't turned these fishies in yet. Will probably hoard a lot of them first.
Edit: Also, is this typical for full moon? Are full/new moon still the best time to fish Gugrusaurus, or are they different from other fish?
its normal for lushang, infact your doing way better than me when i tried 10-20 gugs during my lushang times
and that is when i decide to just buyout gugs ._.
Hopefully this is the right thread, because I am not making a new one.
So I'm trying to level Fishing, because it is a craft that doesn't require me being bored to tears. Naturally being an abysmally low level, picking up where I left off back in the heyday of Rabao fishing, I decided "Hey! I should try my hand at a Pelican Ring!". I finally got around to checking Selbina today, and saw it was Titanic Sawfish, being that I can't fish those up at my amazing skill level of 17, I bought a few off the Auction House. I then traded them to the chick to get registered but she says they don't qualify. I AM UPSET HOW DO I RECTIFY THIS SITUATION I SEARCHED VARIOUS PLACES BUT THEY DON'T TELL ME ANYTHING
You can only trade 1 titanic sawfish at a time.
Titanictus.Com :: View topic - Fish Length(Im)/Weight(Pz) Limits
Here is a list of all legendaries max/min lengths/weights, you'll want to be within 20 points of the max/min whatever you need.
Chances are, you will never get a fish off the ah even close to the size you need for the test, since people selling it will keep those for themselves, and if they intend to sell it will bazaar it by the npc.
I don't quite know what your problem is your having, could you please go a bit more in depth as per what the npc is saying?
Edit: Actually if I recall correctly, you cannot trade fish bought off the ah, bazaar, trade, or self caught onry, dunno.
I did buy the Titantic Sawfish off the Auction House, but I didn't think it'd matter. :\
I just trade it to her and she responds with:
I'm terribly sorry, but this fish doesn't meet the requirements for entry. Please try again!
I did buy one with Fish Ranking X marked on it, but I immediately sold that one >_>
are you sure?
rocl is not talking about Zaldon's "Inside the belly"
hes talking about fishing competition and i didnt know fish ranking competition needs skill 28 tbh. i seen alot of recruits winning already
to rocl: you prolly handed in a fish that is [X]
And for titanic sawfish, it is VERY VERY VERY rare and no profit. the only purpose for this is the Big One and competition, chances of buying one from AH and get a ring is much higher than fishes like Liks or Gugrusaurs nowadays.
The last titanic sawfish competition in Ifrit(1 year ago) has only 14 participants. so your chance is high
just get a unmarked fish and try your luck. no harm. after that turn it into the big one and sell for 50k profit
you can ONLY get into the competition with fishes that have [Im] and [Pz]. Some fishes have no weight and length signature despite being a heavy fish. This only happens in AH sometimes (due to some people selling fishes that are like 5 years ago before signature is introduced lol). Bazar fishes can be traded.
The Fish was not [X] as I had gotten one w/ an [X] previously so I knew exactly what to avoid. It is true neither Titanic Sawfish I traded had an ilm/ponze stat on it, I didn't know if it was applied after trade or what. It's probably that, augh, maybe I can find one in a bazaar or convince a 100 fisherman friend to catch me one :D
should be some fishes someone got ages ago, or the AH fucked it up. I also encounter this "stats-less" fishes before for my very first competition. I always thought that fishes bought through AH are "stats-less" since then since AH have this "Signature removed upon selling". However recently, i bought some marlins to trade and happen to see them having weight and length.
I dunno what causes "stats-less" fish besides fishes that are 5 years ago when signature is yet to implement.
Rocl, buying from the AH isn't bad, but you're going to have to get really lucky.
I think the not qualified thing may be because the stats are just too far away from what they're supposed to be, I think. (Like, lightest competition and you turn in a really heavy one. It's either that, or the fish is glitched. I've had it happen with me once before.) (Also fyi, I got my winning ryugu from the AH :D)
On my server, the ranking fish is almost always bazaard in selbina because fishing is so fucking popular on my server for some reason.
Just keep trying, checking bazaars, buying from AH (provided they're not expensive as hell) and you should get a good fish before it's over. Finding a high level fisher who doesn't need the ring anymore would also be a good idea, does BG not have any other fishers? I'd totally fish you some if I was in Bahamut![]()
