Seen so many horror stories for Ebisu I figured I'd get started early (only 35 fishing) if I saw any cheap ones around.

Bought 73 Lik for pretty cheap and ended up going 1/20! Knowing my luck, I'll go 0/1000 on gugrusaurus, but for right now I'm really psyched.

Anyone on Ragnarok want to buy 53 Lik for cheap? :D

Just got my Lu Shangs Rod too! Someone was selling cheap in Whitegate via shout and I scooped it up ASAP! :D Couldn't be happier with it! Fishing right now infact!!

Any recommendations for where to go at 16? I'm on the Ferry with Shrimp Lure catching Nebimonites, Noble Ladys, and Gugru Tunas currently but also open for other suggestions ^_____^

If you're looking for fastest skill but less profit just grab a robber rig and goto nashmau. You will do eastern shalls until 53ish then staY there until 86ish off mercs and ahtapots if you like it. Lsmate started in Nash at level 7 with a Lu and didn't leave until talacca in the 70's.

Methinks I should consider avoiding this thread until I get my own ebisu...

I'm happy for all those that are getting them, I am, but man...it's killing me seeing these records, and the sheer rate at which people are getting ebisus.

tbh i wish people would stop posting about it. i don't really think this is the place for it.
maybe i should start two new threads and we could get this one locked >.>

or prehaps split this into "look at me i have an ebisu" and "fishing questions" topics. going through 80+ pages wouldn't be fun though

People telling me to trade on New Moon/Full Moon only.
From those 600, at least 200 were traded on New/Full.

And hell...if I trade ALWAYS on New/Moon of course I'll end up with Opal on New/Full but doesn't really mean it's better is it?

After reaching 86, you can stay in Nashmau and get as far as 99, targetting Pterygotus.

Haha, that's sweet, but I'm comfy here on Carbuncle ^^; I would feel kind of silly if I got the item within the first week, and then had to wait 3 months until I could ship back over to Carbuncle. Not to mention the RL money involved, hehe.

Ya absolutely, I preferred talacca until 90 when Ahtapots capped but as you pointed out, you can do 0-99 in Nashmau with a Lu Shangs and 2 lures + lugworms.

Questions of course would be, "where do I do this, what bait should I use, what am I doing wrong?" etc, and discussion would be "hey so here might be what they did to the ebisu" or "I think I found a sweet new leveling spot"

We're getting like 2-3 ebisu get posts every page of this topic and tbh it is getting a lil clogged up... =/

2nd. shoudl get a mod in and see what we can do about it. ~_~ one thread with so many people is not a good idea. we do really need split topics. One that might post current E rod holders(Maybe lu shang? but then agian there are a lot of them, you do not run into to many E rod people, i know only of about 5 on my server(there are more i know)) and a 2nd to ask stuff about fishing.

Anyone have any tips on Ryugu Titans / the "tapping method"? I think Im doing it right, but even tapping he still manages to regen half the time... I've caught 1 so far, but i've let about 20 go due to time.

I wasn't able to reel in ryugus at all until I was in the 50-60's :/

Im on PS2 if that means anything :/ I get about 50% of them down below 20%, but only 1 has ever completely been worn down so far.

get your FPS to about 15-19 (find what works for you) that is how you land hard fish on PC. PS2 should not have to many prob's

Ryugu Titans suck, period. If you can't reel them in it's probably more based on your platform than your own skill. I was in the 90's with Ebisu and they were still a hassle and a half because the rod whipped around too much. After the Ebisu patch they're little babies, but god they were my least favorite fish to fight by far.

Just coming back to fishing after a couple of years, wondering if anything has changed atall, sold my Lu's unfortunately, but i am level 28, and would welcome some advice from some fishing pro's as to where to go and what to use, i dont have much left to do in FF, and i actually enjoy just chilling and fishing sometimes inbetween endgame.

Even though I posted about ebisu in this topic I agree too. I came to reading this thread for good advice and stuff and then saw it turn into an ebisu discussion for like 10+ pages and remember thinking the same thing Spooky suggested. I would imagine though, from a mods standpoint, trying to split off all the Ebisu posts would be a bitch.

I'm a broken record with my advice, but Halcyon rod + robber rig in Nashmau until 53 fishing up Istiridye (eastern shall shell) is pretty nice skilling with decent npc prices. You will occasionally hook a !!! which can snap your halcyon if you don't cancel or an eastern lobster that will give you a hell of a fight, but 95% of the time you'll be hooking Istiridye.

Yes! I was that happy hahahaha I was about 500 Moat Carps in and taking it casual, but I got a 3.0m offer when 3.6m is the going price here on Midgard (and 10k Moats being worth over 4m) so I couldn't pass it up
