Guys do remeber that we have another thead for Indomitable Spirit quest bitching, so... try to keep this to specific Fishing questions and tips.
I see some comments have started leaking back into this thread.
First impressions on lik fishing :
fishing 93.3 - fisherman set (body hands legs feet)
With albatross and penguin ring, after 30~ pterygotus :
1st bite, fish easy to reel in, line break
waited a couple of bites to get a 2nd one, easy to reel, line breaks again
ring goes off.
Tried with albatross - pelican for skill up after tally to reset fatigue.
1st bite, impossible to reel, had to give up and waited 20 min for albatross to be rdy again.
3rd try with penguin - albatross again
1 st bite : line break
2nd bite : rod break - lucky i have 2 lu shang -
3rd bite : line break, +0.2 fishing
4th bite : line break.
ring off
Does it get better at some point ? can i actually hope to have something called lik in my inventory after hitting enter one day ? '-'
I have yet to try penguin + pelican, hoping i'll have enough time to down them, but i doubt it.
I also have 2 questions :
Does skill have a connection with bite rate ?
Does skill have a connection with line breaks, or does it only depends on the rod you're using ? (basically you need ebisu to fish these ?)
ahah ok, well i tried and i failed this :/
I heard about some people using tools to lower their fps to help them fish, but damn, if you have to resort to this to reel in something, maybe SE should do something about the crazyness of their fishes xD
They actually patched fishing TWICE (a few months apart) to make fishing on PS2 and PC of similar difficulty. But PCs have become more powerful since those updates, so once again, there is a disparity (more powerful the PC, more difficult it is to reel in). I emailed a few of the departments on the issue, but I don't think they care enough to fix it a third time.
I'm new to fishing and I'm curious what kind of skill up rates I should be expecting per hour. I may have ruined myself on other crafts. Is it rather naive to think that a level per hour is a good thing?
At the moment I'm level 4.something, and just fishing up Moat Carp in W. Ronfare.
After spending I'd say a halfhour or so there, I only got a .2 skillup so I'm wondering if I'm doing somethign wrong.
Fishing 4, Hume Rod, Insect Paste, Full Fisherman's Gear.
Would I be better using Little Worms until 7 with the gear and then switching to Insect Paste?
I'm such a fishing noob.
You're doing fine so far for your gear/location/bait. Paste should be fine and is best for carps. Just keep at it'-'/ Fishing skill is usually iffy but if you cap out until fatigue at that level you ought to get a level ish :3
Ahh okay, so patience patience patience.
That explains why I got it to like level 4 last time and stopped.
I'll maybe see about aiming for a level or .5 of a level from now on when I'm out.
Was just wondering what kind of time commitment I should put into for each session.
I love the idea of fishing.. but then I sit back and start doing it and forget why![]()
I really do like the idea of fish you cant land a lot. Something like that should be in the game. The E rod although it just got a boost should be even better...
SE for some reason wont make a fish thats hard as fuck to land(well one comes to mind but it has no use)
At 95 (96 now!) fishing, I usually go for a 0.1 per day of fishing 100-200 fish.
If I get a single 0.1 I think it was a successful day. Anything else is just bonus
(But I mean srsly, I'm making like 100 to 150k while skilling up each day, so even with no skillups I won't complain!)
Fish for profit ('-'*) skill ups are just bonus <3
Would it be a bad idea to start skilling up on Mercs/Ahtapots in Nashmau at lv8 provided you have a Lu? <_<'
