There are people who have gotten a or both ebisu mats in the 30s-40s.

my friend just got his saber shoot at level 44(i think) 1/125 or something like this.

i am fishing up all the fish he needs for ebisu for free, and once he gets it, he is gonna help me fish up all the ebisu fish i need for my lady friend. and then all 3 of us will fish up all the ebisu fish someone else in ls needs o.o it will start to take less and less time to get ebisus and eventually we can get an ebisu/day for everyone in the linkshell O_O 20 people with ebisus all fishing ebisu fish like 300fish/day just fishing up 15 per person

Awesome theory as long as it doesn't end up like the classic Joytoy scenario. Ya man we'll all camp together until we all get joytoy! 5 days later 3 ouf out of the 6 members have their swords and slowly they start vanishing from camping for various "RL" reasons.

In theory, it works well, and in fact this has been done before in at least one case by an individual on the Titanictus.com forums. I think he got at least 8 people in his ebisu group, if I recall correctly.

Take into account, though, that obtaining an ebisu does not an ebisu-fish fisherman make. While someone at level 28+ fishing skill can obtain an ebisu fishing pole, they will still not be able to help others out by fishing gugrus/liks up themselves if they do not have the appropriate skill level. If everyone in your LS has high fishing skill, then it'll work out well.

Having people "drop out" of this program when they get their ebisu is probably not something to be too concerned with; if you're all members of a LS, I imagine there is some level of respect/friendship that will keep people from getting it and leaving.

Knowing SE, this is probably the way the quest was meant to be tackled by. As with anything else in the game, you need a bunch of people to take down X event. The person who gets the item from X event will make it slightly easier to complete the second time (a powerful sword, TH gloves, armor, whatever). The only difference in this case is that an individual who obtains an ebisu rod GREATLY increases the rate at which others will get their rods (no rod breaks, better stamina depletion, etc.). I wouldn't mind joining one of these types of group myself, though I would probably limit it to about 2 or 3 others; while our haul would increase exponentially, and we would be able to get the theoretical 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th person's rods quicker, you might get an individual with a record like me which messes things up ;p

(Though, on a side note, I'm not the unluckiest fisherman in regards to the ebisu quest. There are still two other people listed on wiki who have turned in more total fish than I have.)

I've realized that without at least a WW mule on /follow I would be doomed to buying all potential Ebisu fish once I get to that stage. Having to warp out to Altepa every rod break while fishing those would be so insane. I know that even I do not have that level of patience (or the money to keep repairing the damn rod) to make that cost effective over just breaking down and buying the fish.

You're best bet is to find a lv 70ish WWer lookign for cheap skillups.

All he needs to do is sit nearby with light crystals and repair your rod everytime it breaks. You get lus fixed np, and he gets super cheap skillups for WW (trust me, the 70-75 branch would've been almost impossible with my lu shangs, and 75-80 wasnt a cakewalk either)

you cant get an E rod till skill 78 fishing... odds are you can help fish up an E rod if your of that skill. If you fish for someone with skill 28 fishing just die. Thats such crap and pointless, as they are going to take months(years) before they can get the rod(this is saying they fish to cap every day too.)

on a side note im not the most crap fisher for the hole quest only for gugs ~_~: and that might change soon lol ill be happy to lose that title.

well maybe a month and two weeks

starting talacca way early (mid30s) helped a lot

the cap is just done on the number of items you real in, if you use a rig to catch 3 in 1 go, then you still caught 3 items, so its 3 towards your cap.

That's what i thought initially but a friend of mine said he managed to catch over 200 if he counted the 3 in 1 as 3. Probably he counted incorrectly, pretty dumb guy anyway.

On a side note, you used item instead of fish, does that mean rusty items/bucket counts towards the cap?

Afaik yes, but mobs do not? Also, I think it's been proven that catch/release due to full inventory do not count towards your total. Can you skill on a release?

wife's signboard get!!!

after fishing for 2 hours, i can say im very delighted with the moglification lvl 3

i was 100 + 5 + 1 from moghancement before signboard, gugs is easy already for me, but after i go into 100+ 5 + 3(lvl 3 moglification) it sure become easier. i can even reel in gugs at 25 fps now w/o "not enough time" message on my single core laptop PC. i will test on 29 fps when i get home ^^

the rod movement is unchanged, but the depletion rate sure is.

and also the 2 extra skill sure helps. i only got like 4 line breaks out of the 28 gugs i fished. lesser line break! more profit!

as for any difference in lvl 1 and lvl 3 moglification, i'll try when arth gets signboard. i have not bought his 10 commode so he will only be lvl 1 moglification when i get signboard. im lazy to tear down my wife's setup lol

Lol damn this is what I was looking for. Anyways I'm at 115kish, so I'll let ya know in a month. I love the idea of level 1-3 Moglification as well as fishing skill based on water energy but there's really no data behind it other than Urat's post as far as I know.
