With Lu shang borrowed from a friend, I went from 29-41 in about two days only fishing 2-3 hours each. Bite rate is low but the skill ups are so fast it makes up for it. I did nebs upto 27 then moved to Nashmau. Highly recommend going there early with a lu shang.

Alright I'm level 10 Fishing with 4/4 Fisherman's gear. I got from 9-10 with like 2 ship trips and the rest in SSG. A total of about 6 hours. It seems sticking to SSG is my best bet. Do neb bites pick up after 12-15 or skill ups or both? Also is there any way to avoid the cobalt jellyfish / kelp / buckets in SSG? I want a Lu's ASAP but I'm thinking at the rate I'm going..by the time I get to 27 I'll have only caught roughly 800k~ worth of nebs.

I assume at a certain point I can fish nebs to fatigue and that will help tremendously..what point would you say that is skill wise?

Spamming nebs to fatigue at your level should be 1~3 levels of skill without a Pelican Ring and 2~5 levels with a Pelican, if that's what ya mean :3 The bite rate will virtually be the same.

It's a good pond to practice targeting fish. Rusty items, damp scrolls and Norg shells are all very easy to pull in. Cobalt's are very easy and the dead give away is the time the rod will stay idle between reeling it. Nebs are commonly fighters, when the rod moves that much, you know it's not a rusty. However, sometimes they just fall limp and take it, albeit slower than a rusty.

I pulled up about 500k worth of nebs from 14~27, however, I also skilled up many times from Grimmonites and Bastore Breams.

The only reason I stayed in SSG instead of the boat is because I bought a Lu. I'd recommend the boat or else you may break your rod or lose your bait multiple times. If you're wondering what will break a Halcyon in SSG; don't forget about Coral fragments.

And yeah, the bite rate is sporadic, using Lu Shang's didn't change that at all. Skill up rate is on par too, I fished to fatigue everyday and averaged 3 levels a day.

If you're not willing to blow 2mil+ don't buy the fish. If you are and really want the rod buy the fish.

I will second an earlier post somewhere, fish to cap in talacca, npc the fish, buy the ebisu fish. and supposedly you're supposed to buy gugs first since lik are easier to fish up with lu, but i can't say yay/nay to that from 1st hand experience.

But I will say I find gugs easier than lik (with my ebisu)

Also, there is a guy on my server who fishes gugs with lu shang and then sells them on ah lol. I was on boat with him before and he pulled up 4 of them in one ride

*15,000 (cost) = -2,055,000
*880 (return) = +120,560
Total cost = -1,934,440

Gugs - 1/177
*15,000 (cost) = -2,655,000

Tbh now that I'm 100 skill with ebisu I don't give anyone deals lol. I made my gil back, bought everything I wanted, and have enough for now. At this point I keep my selbina mule filled with 20 Liks and 20 gugs at the going rate or higher depending on competition. Once they're purchased I restock, but screw fishing 4 hours a day anymore to supply someone else with fish to accomplish their goals, I have too many of my own current goals in-game to accomplish. However, I have a friend who supplies Liks for 10k privately, soo I can pass on your name if you're on Odin and serious .

My einherjar shell is actually an all around lower member count end-game shell barring kings but we have an open Einherjar for the sake of easier lower tier wins.

Ya it's silly really. He wasn't on 2 nights ago so I bazaared some new gugs for 17.5k each and they sold overnight. Last night he was on and of course his gugs are bazaared at 15.9k so I bazaar my new gugs at 15.9k and both of ours sell over night. If he wasn't an asshat we'd all still be selling them for 17.5k a pop.
