That's cool, gl then. If you have access to multiple characters and can play multiple at once it'll really help speed up the Lu process. I think Arthars was doing 2-3 characters at once spamming moats lol. Someone mentioned that with ebisu you can just hit enter as soon as they bite and pull them up with great success, I'm going to go test that now since I just thought about it...brb lol

For what it's worth, I read your statement as "I'd rather earn it via fishing up all my fish," and not "I'd rather EARN it, unlike you lazy pseudo-fishermen."

Not sure where people were getting the latter interpretation from.

The trick is the alt characters can not be on the same account that way you can fish with them all at once.

Anyways tested the theory of 100+ebisu that you can simply hit enter as soon as a moat bites and fish them in with a decent ratio. Only 6 casts I know but 0/6 seems pointless to carry on. Edit: hmm cut the last one off sorry, it was another break.

Currently about 30% done parsing gear on dils/mercs, here's what I'm doing to take out any skillups, moonphase, day, etc:

Each day, I will fish for exactly 30 mins 3 times in a row, each segment swapping gear.

The first segment will be performed "naked" persay, no notable elemental resists, no fishing gear, no apron, just ebisu and generic armor.

Second set will be apron and +3 skill armor.

Third set will be the remnants of my omgwtfwaterresistouttheass set, thunder staff, lamia neckpiece, rings, earrings etc etc.

Doing this in chunks will rule out moon phase as each parse will be done within a 3-5% moonphase. I'll post my results after I feel I've collected suffiecient data.

I did do a parse like this for fishing skill gear vs normal gear on liks and found about a 15% increase of liks over 1000 casts (500 each) with the +4 skill from armor.

In other words, 4 skill seems to roughly lower your line snaps by 15%, this was with lus though and so far it is appearing that the skill isnt as noticable with ebisu.

Yup, I don't have the map, nor do I plan on it anytime soon, but I do have moghancement fishing skill. The only shitty part is until you get signboard you will have to use low strength furniture otherwise it'll overpower the big one pretty darn easily.

I got a really good/long pull on this one, and at first I thought it was a Titan until I saw the 'how much longer...' message. o_O Note the lack of a ring effect (Don't even have signet on.) Now, I've inadvertently hooked a Gug before while doing zombies/titanictus in the past and couldn't take the fucking thing past 80% without a ring. This one here, didn't feel like a Gug at all at the time.

For reference: 100fishing+Moglification+Apron, no additional fishing gear on since I was only going for Zombies for GP today.

In a normal craft:

Moghancement is gained from purchasing either the 150k gp item or the 200k gp item and placing it in your mh and gives you +1 skill. Moglification is gained from purchasing both of those items and placing them in your mh together and gives the added effect of less materials lost on breaks. You still get the same +1 skill with Moglification as you got with Moghancement.

In fishing:

Moghancement is gained from placing either "The Big One" or the "Fishing Hole Map" or the signboard in your mh and gives +1 skill. Moglification is gained from having either "The Big One" or the "Fishing Hole Map" plus the signboard (200k gp item) in your mh and gives less line breaks in addition to the +1 skill you got from moghancement.

What people are questioning is whether overwhelming water energy in your mh gives additional skill or if it's still just +1 like the normal crafts.

So I guess the best is to put "The Big One" plus the 200k GP Signboard.
So, can we consider OK to skip the 150k GP item?

I say so because I am sitting at 60k GP and wondering if I better get the Apron at 100k or save for the Signboard at 200k. (Got Waders and Rumors of course)

Will get crafted a Big One soon, so that is covered.

Question about the fishing contest. If I read the otherwiki right you can't buy a fish from AH correct? The way I read it was that you can sell a fish once you have entered it and that fish can not be re-entered.

AFAIK you can buy fish from the AH and enter them in the contest, the only time it wouldn't work is if someone entered the fish, then put it on the AH and that's the one you bought. Not 100% sure though as when it's contest time I always catch my own, but on Asura last contest fish was Giant Chiari, none sold since like January of last year then all of a sudden the AH was stacked with them selling 10 or so a day.

Also TY Nibu for answering my previous question. Gives me a good idea of what to expect.
