Lol thanks, ya titans are the devil. I wouldn't be surprised if Ryugu's were higher than titanictus solely based on the number of line breaks.

    Cave Cherax:
    lv85.2 + Ebisu + 0 from gear = auto-depletion

Edit: I got one down to litterally a sliver of HP left and waited, it auto-killed itself. It was a pretty small "DoT" effect compared to a rusty item, though.

Edit: Ok, after seeing pixiehawk's post, i went to do some real quick testing. Using a mule with lv7 natural skill + hume fishing rod on moat carp at Knightwells pond, the fish didn't even regen. The HP just remained stagnant. Then i switched to lushang and still got the same result. So i am not sure how is your moat carp still regen-ing at level 30. You are probably hooking gold carp.
I must have been reading it wrong or something. Still trying to learn this fishing stuff.

Just for a comparison, I'm 82.8 with Lu Shang's, no auto-depletion on pterygotus for me. That's with +6 skill from furnishing and gear. Tried it with advanced support with furnishing/gear and no auto-depletion either.

If you're bored try to see if +13 skill over the fish is where natural depletion kicks in for Lu!

I hit 83 right as I finished typing that post hehe. Yeah I will test it tonight on Zebra Eels to see if 13 skill over will auto-deplete them at all. I'll make sure to try it without gear/furnishing.

Got a no deplete regenning fish on a pirate ride, short time limit, I'm guessing that was a gugru. No +skill.

No depletion on Ryugu Titan with +4 skill.

Aha, the slightest autodepletion on Titanictus at +1 skill but NOT at +0. I'm sure of it, I got it down real low and let it sit and it went to 0.

Auto-depletion on Sea Zombie with +0 skill.

Ok, i have a few questions to ask lol
Was doing the testing to find the exact level between Auto-regen and Stagnant. So my way of finding out is to deplete the fish till their name grey'd out then see if they will regen back up, after which i reeled them in to confirm it is the targeted fish.

Right now, i tested till giant donko (50) with a lv 8 fishing mule. With +4 equips, the difference is -38. While reeling in, i stopped to look at the hp and it did regen but when i "killed" the fish, it doesn't regen back up. I was actually hoping to confirm it is regen-ing. My question is if you killed the fish ( grey out), there is no chance for it to regen up? i could have swore i saw some fishes regening back after i "killed" it.

I noticed this when i was doing coral butterfly then i thought my eyes are playing trick on me since it is 4:30am. Gonna go sleep and continue tomorrow.

From what I've seen, I don't think a regenning fish will "come back to life" if you don't touch it, but it will if you push in the wrong direction.

Could be wrong, it's just what I think I've experienced.

Afaik once you kill the fish completely it won't regen, the only time it appears to have happened is when you kill it right when it swings and you see it gray out but actually get a bit of life back at the same time.

So if we can determine what level titanictus' are then we can determine the built in fishing skill + on ebisu? I assume we can figure out their level by determining the level range of natural regen with non-ebisu and toying with that. I know Windfoxster started to but was passing out, just as an fyi I just tested on gugs, once they're greyed out no matter which way you hit on the keyboard they will not get stamina back, it's only when they're in the middle with stamina.

Just as a mental note, Kaeli with 80 skill + ebisu did not auto-deplete. 81 skill + ebisu does auto-deplete.

How sure are we that Ebisu has "Hidden Effect: Fishing Skill +X" because that's pretty amazing in itself...?

Not sure exactly what to call it yet, I'm waiting for a composite rod to pop on the Odin AH. But the tldr version is I went to determine what level auto-depletion kicked in and noticed with ebisu even on a 100+ level fish wearing no skill gear/no furniture/no support I was auto-depleting the fish. This struck me as odd and Windfoxster verified with a Composite rod that +13 is the magic skill level above the fish cap to naturally auto-deplete. With the help of some other BG fisherman who have ebisu + non-100 skill we further discovered where Kaeli with 80 skill + ebisu did not auto-deplete titanictus' but 80 skill + 1 skill item + ebisu does auto-deplete titanictus.

Put simpler, Pterwhatevers are verified @ 99 skill and Kaeli was able to auto-deplete without any additional gear as 80 skill with Ebisu. Assuming different rods do not have different level ranges above the fish cap to auto-deplete then that puts Kaeli at ATLEAST 112 skill putting him +32 over your natural skill level through Ebisu only.

There's still a lot of testing to be done, the good news is a lot of people are chipping in where they can. It's difficult since it requires certain rods and level ranges.

Aye. The last major thing I feel I've contributed to the fishing community is helping with the Brigand's Chart strategies (i.e. holding pugil). I'd like to get in on this, but I'm still chipping away at Zaldon for the 2nd ebisu item.

Assuming you still have Lu if you could go hit up Ahtapots and verify if natural depletion begins at +13 skill levels over (103) that would be awesome. Windfoxster verified paid support is +2 if that helps

And let me know if there's anything else specific you want me to try. Later on I might try getting support to see if that makes titans go down. It's kind of exciting to be involved in discovery.

Greg, I have a Composite Rod if you need to borrow one for testing. Give me a yell in-game tonight if you still need it.

If you're not using it feel free to dbox me it to me. I'm off to bed now and have to work tomorrow but after I'll test some stuff out. If there happens to be one on the AH when I get home I'll just buy it and return yours to you. Thanks!

Which might explain the seeming effect of the penguin ring, mayhaps the auto depletion adds onto your normal depletion with the rod, thus once you go voer the 13 skill cap with ebisu, which if +6 you could pull it off with +4 in gear, moglification, and guild?

I'll try taking stuff out of my MH to turn on my big one's fish skill + and combine it with guild support, ebisu, and +4 in gear to see if I get a auto depletion on lv 100 fish.
