Ya we talked about that flying dragon a few pages back its funny, scared me too when i started my lik fishing days.

This may sound dumb, but could it BE a Lik? I haven't looked at the icon very closely, but they're supposed to be sea dragons, right?

But seriously you've seen the dragon thing? Do you know if it appears randomly or on any sort of timer?

14:20 every day. also at the spot where you do the final COP cut scene ( IT zone), there is a time where you see 3-4 of those flying around above tavnazia.

I wonder if there are any other spots like this that have cool things like the dragon.

Honestly if it wasnt for this spot being a fishing spot, the chances of someone ever being at the spot to see the dragon, (killing orcs to lower fomor hate? I dunno) and at the exact moment, are very very slim.

Which makes me think there might be a handful of other cool effects in the game we might not know about, or at least kind of do...

Also, I've noticed the vast majority of these cool effects, fish, monsters, sharks, dolphins, birds, etc, are all at fishing spots, specifically ferries, buburimu beaches, owls at fishing spot in carpenter's landing (must get pics one of these days, but that 20 minute boat wait is daunting @_@ etc...

I think the effects team really must like us fishers, eh? Giving us neat things to look at while passing the time...

EDIT: Holy crap I got lucky! no pugil so 4x chest and got my first Penguin Ring! also got 2x 1 Byne Bill which was icing on the cake

There was an effects team article a few years ago I think that gave away small details most people do not see while playing, much like this flying dragon unless of course you are there fishing up liks, or even those giant whales people have been showing off a few pages ago, there are even dolphins on manaclipper trips lol. One detail I remember, but have yet to see is grasshoppers in Rolanberry lol.

Had a great day fishing Ahta's and Mercs'. I got about 2 levels worth of skillups. Lots of .3's reeling in Ahta's. 2 levels in 37 fish to me is a great day. Wish I could of fished to cap but damn KV camps.

Unless bite rate on Ebisu is different than Lu's, Lugs are a horrible bait for Ptery's. It singles them out, yes, but I was getting a bite rate of 1 every 7-10 casts. Try a minnow instead and you'll be fishing for mercs and ptery's. Should be able to tell the difference with ! and !!!

A Sinking Minnow in Nash will catch the following fish: Denizanasi, Istakoz, Mercanbaligi, and Pterygotus. You will go to 4 potential catches (ignoring items) instead of 1 potential catch. I'm not sure if an increased biterate will offset the dramatic increase in 'garbage fish' you see using a Sinking Minnow. If it was just Mercanbaligi and Pterygotus bites I would completely support your suggestion though. The only way I can see this working is if you almost never catch the other two fish.

I skilled from ~91 to 99 mainly on Pterygotus and Lug Worms were fine for me. I started fishing them using lures to fish Pterygotus but I found I was spending too much time cancelling fish that didn't skill me so I switched to Lug Worms.

Sinking Minnow will get a lot of non-ptery fish but still have plenty of "You didn't catch anythings" depending on whatever else is affecting fishing (moon phase/fatigue etc).

Lugworks are nice because they come in a belt to minimize inventory, and they will target Ptery's and Rusty's only.
