Just won two MMM fishing runs. Went duo with another 100 fisher he has esubu I have Lu's (damned Liks!)

On my run I placed Lost and Found and Conditioning contract. We won with no issues. I got an Emperor fish and 2 sandfish for my prize.

My friend (Hi Krish!) went with a totally blank maze. It was a closer run as we have mobs being a pain hovering around us where ever we went. But we won. He Got a Red Terripan and two Shining Trout.

"The water of the fishing hole will be altered"

It's two squares and Water element.

Clearly this will let us go for saltwater fishies.

Things we learned:


It's clear that when a pond stops sparking there are no fish. Move to a new place.

You can turn in a Pugil if you get one, you can turn in a Crab ONLY after you have a good fish to turn in. A Slime will eat a good fish if you have one on you when you catch it.

The brothers are just as annoying as ever. And they treat their sister badly!

What lure did you use? I started out using sinking minnow, but only caught 1 or 2 catfish.

Tried minnow the next time, same thing: Catfish.

Tried Worm Lure, and was doing pretty well with that. Getting Monke-Onke, and a few black eel.

Haven't determined the difference between normal, large, and minnow MMM bait.

Edit: As for rewards - I got an Alchemist and Bonecrafting rune thing.

Someone else got a FISHING SKILLUP from their C.C. box. LOL.

I used a Shrimp Lure, which sucked, and then moved to a Frog Lure, which sucked but sucked less.

Tried Worm Lure, and was doing pretty well with that. Getting Monke-Onke, and a few black eel.

I used a sinking Minnow and got nothing but Catfish. Had some good runs where I got several fish fast, and some bad stretches. But it seemed to work well.

FFXIAH has a list of new items and one is:

Heron Ring

I remember they teased Seagull, but I hadn't seen this one. Based on the description, seems like it fits in MMM with the other ring.

Thanks, looking through that list for the first time as I fish up some gugs. Wonder if any of the weird fish that are for some reason listed there have been added to inside the belly like Istavrit, Rhinochimera, Giant Octopus, or Veydal Wrasse. I just fished up a Veydal since I was on this ferry anyways, I'll try turning it in later.

I posted wondering about the same thing on my blog earlier. A commenter made a pretty interesting point:

The fish that have been found in dats, I believe are the fish that can be fished up in the.... dun dun dun... new MMM voucher.

It's a competition where you fish up what you can; each different fish being worth a certain amount of points. The MMM findings page on BG should give you all the details. ^^

People still need to test and verify which fish were added to the ones Zaldon will accept though, so see if he'll take it.

Ohhhh he took my Veydal Wrasse but no luck on item...guess I need to go fish more. Just gave me 225 gil.

edit: going to bed and won't be back on until tomorrow afternoon. If someone is bored I caught it in about 4 casts with ebisu + minnow on open sea route mhaura/whitegate.

I tried the fishing MMM, was lame. You didn't catch anythingxa lot, (yes, the water was glowing) was using sinking minnow. And those stupid elvaans kept talking and saying shit and catching lots of fish. I HAVE A FUCKING EBISU, I SHOULD BE CATCHING MORE FISH THAN THOSE IDIOTS AND THEIR CRAPPY RODS. ugh

Adding the rune that "adds additional conditions/requirements" makes it so you need 3600 total points.

Also added trial by budget, wasn't a smart idea, but the stupid elvaans won like a minute before it timed out, meh.

I ended up with 2600 points or so.
