Thanks for the info. Greatly appreciated.
It looks very doable with 2 or three people.

Think it'd be possible to solo the maze?
this is important. it underscores not only the possibility that they included more than 1 drop per fish but that they did it in this update (IE it's not just a unique property of the marlin.) this just got interesting. i'm guessing there's not a chance in hell, but has anyone tried turning in a matsya? it would be interesting if they can rarely drop something of extremely high value.
Already mentioned that it didn't work. I think what we really need to do is go back and check older fish that used to give garbage and see if they give new items as well (In addition to continuing testing of new fish to see if certain fish give more than one type of item).
Lot's of work to do...

I think today I'll spend my time fishing one of the "new" Zaldon fish, and we'll see if I can confirm whether all of them have possible 2nd/3rd/etc/ drop items. I'll focus on Pirarucu. If someone else wants to take a different fish , please post so we can spread our efforts.
It keeps getting asked, but has anyone tried trading in a Mola Mola?
yesterday i traded over 100 pterygoptus and got 7 lapis lazuli, either he only gives that item or a second one is very rare
Yes, I just tried a Mola Mola and didn't work
Hey guys long time lurker. I just wanted to report that I got the Seagull ring last night with my friend. She has pics but I don't think we can post pics because we just registered. We tried it twice, lost the first time but won the second time and got the ring. Don't remember the exact runes we had since it was a copied voucher but I do know one was Lost and Found. We picked the mithra when we won and also got two sandfish and an emperor fish. I updated my ffxiah profile with it on but for some reason it's not showing the ring. If you have any questions I'll try to answer them.
ugh. how'd i miss it? i read thru everything after the update i thought. must have misread something, sorry. since we know that the wrasse offers 2 drops, it might be worth fishing a number of them and trading a statistically significant sample in order to gauge the ratios of the drops. this will at least give us a GUESS as to how many trials we need to be relatively confident a fish doesn't have multiple drops.
got this last night, Tablu 01 (the basic one)
had Fisherman (85)
no JA's, no Magic, thats about it,
Tried to trade Abaia to Zaldon... obviously didn't work
Just lost 3 times w/ a group of 4.
Runes were:
103 Amnesiac's Trial
094 Lost and Found
104 Trial By Silence
017 Supreme Might
018 Might
081 Fleetfoot
102 Trial By Numbers
The brothers started out with a 1250 point lead and total points needed was 5100 D:
One of the members has low fishing skill and kept losing fish due to lack of skill. The rest of us had np landing fish, but bites rates were crap. Gonna try again w/ just 2 of us.
Opps I meant Heron & Seagull rings. Pelican ring is worthless! XD (level 100) Got mixed up, all the rings are bird names that eat fish lol
Now reported both from Mithra? There goes that theory, at least fish theory panning out.
As for Heron, seems like it will stop Lik/Gugru/Ryugu from regen HP so fast, and perhaps Seagull helps you drain the stamina faster (and penguin makes rod stay to left/right longer)? My guesses
Just did the same MMM maze i posted earlier w/ 2 and won easily.
Got
Heron Ring
Brigand Chart
Emperor Fish
2x Sand fish
Giant Donko
Rune 86 Caprenter
Spoiler: show
Very incouraging that Chart/Ring don't share same loot spot (damn! another junk chart!) ty for sharing
