Well, [GM]Luminious isn't anywhere near that helpful two days ago. "Player" and devoted fisher Ccbae was on the ferry fishing with a full inventory for about two hours, and getting on and /healing exactly the same way each time, GM wouldn't do shit. We've got a plethora of level 1, rank 1, WARs with gibberish names all fishing on the Ferry on Hades the past three times I've gone there. I STF reported the two groups I've seen, may the banhammer be with them. :D

I'm currently 26 Fishing, and skilling up. I've done the Ferry a bunch of times, and Nebs+Noble Ladies are nice money and skill ups. I'll often have a pretty lousy bite rate there though, so I end up only getting 4 fish in the 15 or so minute ride. Then have to stand around waiting for the thing to leave again. It got a little tiresome for me.

If you've got a Lu's though, I found SSG to be quite a bit nicer. (I used a Shrimp Lure again for bait.) Norg shells you can sell for a pretty penny in Norg on the Bastok AH. I haven't gotten a Damp Scroll, but I'm sure those move quickly too. I'm able to pull up Grimmonites fairly easily, but they do have a lot of stamina, so if one has more fight in it than usual I run out of time. Breams also bite fairly often. Other than that it's just Nebinomites which I'm still under the cap on and sell nicely.

I tried North Qufim with both Shrimp Lure and Minnow available, and got more skill ups, but made less money. Only snagged two Gigant Squid while I was there as well which was a little disappointing. (At the same time shocking that I can catch level 85+ fish at all though, really.)

After finishing up some Campaign stuff I'll probably go back to SSG.

I'll probably have to check out Talacca Cove tomorrow, but it looks like it's got some potential (assuming I get an ok biterate at my level).

Guess I'll go try SSG out tomorrow. Can't tonight since we are doing 21 KS99 orbs D:

They would be good for a 15.4 fishing even if they cap at 53 ?

Bream cap at 86 and Grim cap at 90. Shall shells cap at 53. Just saying if you can catch the grim/breams why not just do shall shells (which capped me faster, though I capped on nebimonites => fished marlins/ogre eels => did shall shells once 40) Part of the reason was I didn't have a Lu Shang at the earlier periods though (pre40)

It's really server dependent. On Shiva they don't sell fast at all. If you read the thread you'd know this...

I agree that shall shells are great for skillup. I fished carp in Rabao back when it was the MC mecca to get my Shangs also skilling up on Sandfish. I got my Shang at about 35 skill and immediately went to bubu to fish shall shells. Capped my fishing at 51 on them within 3 days of fishing a few hours a night. At the time the shells also NPC'd rather well, too.

On Hades our botters are dumb enough that they usually aggro Sea Horror on their own. I've killed it twice after they HP for lulz.

Do crayfish balls actually work well enough catching Shall Shells that I won't need to get a rig or three? I'm working on Cooking GP atm, and they're ludicrously priced on the AH.

You really shouldn't lose a rig. I think 1-100 I lost maybe 2 minnows total. Still have my rigs. ;x

I do know this, I have read this thread through before I posted.

Even if they do not sell fast, they're still comparable with Nebimonites when they're on their down cycle they often take from over fishing, I say server dependent to avoid catching comments like yours.

Ok, I tried the fishing with Crayfish Balls, and I got one less Ridill than I did Shall Shell in the past 30 minutes in Buburimu Penis. I can't even get monsters to bite here.

edit: And with two Robber Rigs in my possession, I haven't caught a single fish in 15 minutes. I've got three Yellow Globes from earlier though. Anyone needs some kelp though, do a server transfer, I'm sure I've got enough to make it worth your while. I'll be the guy "You didn't catch anything." by the beach. Speaking of which, more kelp! Yay! Is the "catch shall shells" thing complete BS or what?

You should only need 1 rig, the only time your line would snap on Shalls is if you fish before it's at 0%.
If you don't want to buy one. you could get a few guild points and get one with that. I think they are only like 3k.

You can solo it. There's a few vids on the net you can look at to get an idea. However, I doubt you will be able to solo it first time; and it can be a bit of a pain to get another chart.
I recommend you go with 3 SMNs total, only need to be level 20. You don’t need any gear, meds or anything else. (Except maybe a warp scroll.)

- Trade the chart and start CS.
- Get everyone to summon.
- One person starts fishing.
- Soon as the mobs pop everyone 2hrs.
- Win.

No one needs to start fishing if you do it that way. Fishing just allows u to get a net that prevents mobs from moving(I think). I've done this with 3 smns about 10 times, 2 smns and 1 blm (to finish off the sahagin) lost 1 time w/ 2 smn 1 blm, and lost with just 2 smns due to a huge resist (which does happen, regardless of capped smn skill). Never lost with 3 smns except one time when someone used the wrong bp ;x I've seen all 3 die w/ 2 smns bps and didn't even need the third as well. Hundred fists is vicious though.
