Just finally got around to doing my Brigand's Chart... I brought 2 friends to pull the Pugil off me...

Got chest > chest > fish > ran out of time.

What's the secret?

Hmm, chest > chest > fish > timed out is a little too fast. By right, you should be able to pop 3x chests and 1 monster before timing out[ i.e you should be able to cast 4 times without any trick] . Even if you manage to get the 3rd chest, it won't be a ring. Probably it has to do with reeling/tabbing technique and of course you still need to use the pugil's trick to get the ring.

edit: Also, if trying this you can also just save a pirate's chart so that it forces you to get brigand's every time.

That being said, if you spam Zaldon for Brigand's charts while doing the event like I said, you will inevitably end up holding a Pirate's Chart, and you'll just have to ignore it while you try and get more brigand's charts.

I assumed this as well. If you are holding a chart and get 'another' of the same kind, i always assumed it just gave you the 'got nothing' message. I have never seen a boost by holding a chart, which is why i try not to do it unless i'm doing a Brig marathon.

Today while riding the selbina-mhaura boat and fishing I got a random tell from a GM. Told me he was conducting an investigation of third party tools and asked me to stop /fish and turn my dude around, right when I hooked my first ryugu titan of the ride too<.<. There was no one in selbina or even on the boat with me, didn't do any fishing prior to this during the day either. My account is ps2 only also, you'd think they could see that?

This happening to anyone else?

53-70ish were really annoying. The fish fight like crazy and give crazy carpal tunnel. But the skillups are really good, so I dunno what to tell ya. Silver sharks are another possibility, maybe bhefel marlins as well since you can get charts from em.

re: the boat fishing thing, I rode the boat many a time and never got a GM tell. Might be that someone else was caught earlier and they were just continuing an investigation into all boat riders at that moment in time.

Nebs? They cap at 27..

Anyway, I'm stuck at the same point, Mercs are annoying to pull up since about half the time they break my Shrimp Lure and I can barely drain Trumpets past half (currently no rings).

I also have no rings. Suppose Penguins are pretty much needed 53-onward. Just depressing being mired in the mid 50s when I'll be dinging into Ebisu in 25 levels.

You don't need Penguin, you need Albatross ring more to knock off Ahtapots/Mercanbaligi @ 53~70. Also this is all the more place to see Seagull Ring shine if you have it as well.

53-57 was pretty rough for me as well. Here's a couple tips that helped me: 1: Always get paid support in whitegate before you head to nash, 2. Run down the ramp and all the way to the end and fish off the end. 3. Try a slow down program, 4. Get an albatross. Otherwise tough it out, it'll get easier.

If u don't have a Lu at this point I'm not sure how successful the Nash path will be =(.

Roughest part for me started when I hit 59.8 lol. Been sitting here for the last few days. Caught over 200 fish with no skillups. Only got a .1 fishing skillup from MMM chest lol.

Just did 4 MMM's, run #2 Heron's ring (our 2nd in about 12 runs), run #3 Seagul (both from normal chest). :D. Just need a stupid penguin for a full house!

(Maze had Paeon, L+F and w/e the one that gives you compass, runes. 3000 to win 300 head start)

I made 3mil lol. I've been fishing Marlins/SilverShark/RyuguTitans. till 61. I'm not in a super hurry since I dont have my Lik item and still about 40k away from Sea Serpent Rumours.

Last night I got a Heron Ring. Now I have both.

Also 0/22 on a win on Brigands Chart.
However I've gotten about 5 wooden flowerpots (55k each on my server)

I never really thought about it like it was increasing your chances, more like if you're already holding one chart then the next chart you get is obviously going to be the other one. But since you brought it up... Normally I like both charts since Pirate's gives a chance at M.Kris even though I don't need more albatross rings but in the case we're discussing where you're holding the Pugil and want another Brigand's Chart so your chances at a ring go WAY up, there's really nothing wrong with keeping a Pirate's chart on you just in case. I mean there are only 2 options here:

1: If you are already holding a Pirate's Chart Zaldon will give you a Brigand's Chart instead

or

2: If you are holding a Pirate's chart Zaldon will just give you nothing since you already have it.

In either case, holding a Pirate's chart doesn't hurt your chances of getting another Brigand's Chart and at worst it does nothing (other than you wasting Pirate's charts). So if you care nothing about one of the 2 charts it certainly will not HURT your chances to hold the other chart and hope it increases your chances at the other chart. I personally like both charts and would not keep a Pirate's chart on me, but if I had people holding the pugil and I got a Pirate's Chart I certainly wasn't going to stop trading Marlin, even if I was losing out on potentially millions of gil.

It's just like all those crafting rumors that have been flying around since forever. No one has been able to prove anything one way or the other and people still insist on trying to tell other people they're stupid for facing certain directions, crafting on certain days, etc. Do whatever you want, it's not hurting you at the very least and it could possibly be helping.

How high would you say your WW skill has to be in order to repair your Lu shang with an acceptable success rate ? (I know you can't lose your rod but having to carry around 10 stacks of light crystal seems a bit counterproductive :/).
Leveling WW to 60 was piss easy but i'm a bit scared of what's coming after (never took a craft past 60 before)

Apparantly you get the new fishing apron by synergizing your old one. I tried at level 8 and only could add fewell twice before it blew up.
