Fisherman's cuffs? 3rd tier synergy recipe.... Anyone working on getting?

I'll be working on getting it, and soon to be converting my apron as well (yay for being @95k GP!)

How high would you say your WW skill has to be in order to repair your Lu shang with an acceptable success rate ? (I know you can't lose your rod but having to carry around 10 stacks of light crystal seems a bit counterproductive :/).
Leveling WW to 60 was piss easy but i'm a bit scared of what's coming after (never took a craft past 60 before)

I heard like 74 was a good happy medium. Perhaps someone else can confirm?

Yes, 74~76. A few failures here and there, but just enough to succeed without massive hassle, and skill ups as well.

Apparantly you get the new fishing apron by synergizing your old one. I tried at level 8 and only could add fewell twice before it blew up.

Ew. Good thing I've been doing my GP fishing despite having all the items. If I blow mine up, I have enough to replace it.

I think I'll be the person with the shortest time having a Apron before converting it into a Smock, unless Juilan will get off his ass and start on his own. XD

It gives you an extra ability, Fishing: Precision Thwack. --> Apply a precisely aimed blow to the furnace to prevent an explosion, with results superior to the standard thwack.

God damn I'm confused but mostly because my pc has been down since last sat night and the only bg thread I've read is this one from my phone. But it's looking like you need 44ish syngery skill to synth the apron which turns it into a smock with no stats and then from somewhere you need to find a mat with fishing skill +1 and chance to cat h items reduced stats on it which you then synergize with the blank smock for the final product?

Ps I assume I'm way off which I'm sorry about. Imtrying to kill 24 minutes before the pc shop opens to pick up my pc so I can start working towards the smock later.

Lol, that's too much. I posted how to get Smock above, you simply trade your apron to a furnace and try to successfully Synergize it.

Ah I get it then I think. i read ice ## and water ## as the only stats on the smock, didn't realize they were how u make it. Thanks

53-70ish were really annoying. The fish fight like crazy and give crazy carpal tunnel. But the skillups are really good, so I dunno what to tell ya. Silver sharks are another possibility, maybe bhefel marlins as well since you can get charts from em.

re: the boat fishing thing, I rode the boat many a time and never got a GM tell. Might be that someone else was caught earlier and they were just continuing an investigation into all boat riders at that moment in time.

I did Marlin and Sharks (since you can get both from sliced bluetail) and then once I hit like 60ish, I fished Jungle Catfish for a while (easy to target, break from the Nashmau thing). Once I hit 70ish, I went back to Nashmau for Mercs/Ahtapots and an occasional Dil/merc/ahtapot session in the nearby zone. Once I hit 78 and got my Ebisu, i've fished things like Emperor Fish (for cooking mule skillup) and Cave Cherax (for giggles, they are surprisingly easy to pull in). While skilling up on Jungle Catfish, the fishing contest happened to be Jungle Catfish, so I got myself a skillup ring - which was really nice.

i've found that although not the easiest to do, checking a fishing website and finding some obscure fish that you can skillup on is a benefit and can be fun. It breaks the monotony of the merc/Ahtapot monotony.

Also, on the MMM front: Saltwater run netted me Seagull ring + Pirates chart the other night, so not i've got the Heron/Seagull set completed. Heron was netted from a Freshwater run a week or so earlier.

Hah, I just made my smock at level 6 synergy. Still got my blacksmithing one to cook up to the cap. Not nearly as useful upgraded as Fishing.

Is there a guide to Synergy anywhere? I'm usually late on everything so haven't done much with the new Synergy stuff...
