Any idea what synergy level fisherman's smock will cap at so I can no longer get skill ups from failing it?
Well I posted yesterday about not having any luck fishing up Gigants and once again I am unable to fish any but I was told by someone that the zone was fished up, much like the choco digging fatigue and that I would have to wait fr a zone reset. Can anyone confirm this? Seriously I have fished for a long time and I have not seen a constant lack of fish.
Never seen this happen before. What level are you? And what bait are you using?[/QUOTE]
Level 100 with Lu and tiger cod or minnow. Never saw this before either which is why I posted. I mules a few times but not to fish so my level was 75 on fishing character. I am just hoping they didn't ninja nerd something
Ah a level 100 fisher, then i don't know what to say. Maybe SE did break something. I used minnow to catch those last time since it is free. Random bites but still higher than lik/gugru bites rate so probably like what they say fished out. Even for other fishermen, no bite?
I used to see this a lot when I was working on Lu back in the day at Knightwell. I would be pulling up 9 carp out of every 10 casts and so would everyone around me and then out of no where I'd be lucky to catch 1 out of 20 casts and others around wouldn't catch anything either. I know its not proven but I'm a believer that certain zones get 'fished out' for certain amounts of time.Level 100 with Lu and tiger cod or minnow. Never saw this before either which is why I posted. I fish in Nashmau a lot, and if I login and there are like 2-5 other people there fishing steadily, often times it'll take me like 6 hours if I want to cap at 200.
But if I'm the only one there, I seem to get it done in like, 2 hours.
I always imagined the bite rate starts at like 95%, and every time someone pulls up a fish the bite rate drops by 1%. Every X seconds that go by that someone DOES NOT pull up a fish, the bite rate goes UP by 1%.
So basically, if you have 5 people fishing a small pond, the bite rate will cap out at whatever the floor value is the entire time you're fishing.
This is just an educated guess, but it seems to stay true with my experiences.
Purely anecdotal, I don't even know if it depends on the number of fishermen there. There were more than a handful of times when I was the only one (or maybe 2 total) in Nash and I couldn't get a bite to save my life. I'd end up just going to Talacca for a couple hours or giving up and coming back later. I don't know if it's random shit is random and I hit a cold streak or what, but ya I've felt zones "fished out" but don't really believe in it. Sort of odd, it's more like a zone just went cold or something. And inb4 THAT'S BECAUSE OF THE MOON.
@ Seraph Sho answered it I think, but Moglification is a penguin ring like effect, if you read the description on Wiki it also says it makes them easier to catch, some interpret this as less line breaks, but I don't know about that. My overall % results with moglification seem about the same as others who have kept track.
That was my impression. I know it was tested and proven that higher MH elemental strength did NOT affect the fishing skill granted by Moglification, but did anyone ever see if it affected the Penguin ring effect? I would love to know that there is no reason to push the water strength in my MH any higher....
That would be a real bitch to test for though. :-/
So now a few months in, what have we found to be the most effective bait for Turnabaligis? I've been using minnow and am getting bite rates close to Cave Cherax, which is bearable I suppose but Id like to bump it up if I could.
You're not the only one my friend. I was able to get rid of a ton of water barrels lol. Have u made any progress on ebisu items? I had some rl/pc issues that knocked me off the radar for awhile but I'm back now mostly skilling synergy for fun, so if you need anything look for me in-game.
Just dropping in to say hi to fellow fishers.
I'm 90.9 with a borrowed Lu Shang's, 0/20 on Lik and 0/20 on Gugru - all bought with profits from fishing. I've gotten 2 Pelican Rings placing 11th and then 7th in the last two ranking contests. I went 1/4 on rings from Brigands Charts and 1/2 from Pirates Charts - which also netted me 1 dwarf pugil and 1 drill calamari.
I tried MMM fishing with some jp friends, but haven't tried soloing it - anything I should know about solo vs. group MMM fishing?
Right now I'm burning through the last of my 2nd Pelican on Armored Pisces... they're not so bad with fishing support - don't need to waste charges on Penguin/Albatross, and they're pretty easy to localize. Seems skillups dropped off significantly when I moved to them at 86, though.
Cool story bro?
Edit: Oh, I went Waders -> 10k from Rumors -> Apron -> who cares.
Don't make your MMM rune too hard, especially no 117 Salinity Shift. Hell I think you could just do the rune without any thing on it and have a decent drop rate. Use a Minnow, fish in the very first pool of water you see for Giant Catfish, then Worm Lure or Shrimp Lure in the 2nd pool to your left for Black Eel/Monke-Onke if the first pool goes empty. You'll win np unless you're terrible at fishing (in which you shouldn't be).
Always a good thing to have fun on Armored Pisces.
Moglification (sign+map or sign+big one) is very noticable help, more so than Seagull ring to me.
