They're pretty much just sending you a tell to see if you respond. Just gotta stop fishing for a moment and respond, move around a bit, prove to them you're not a bot.

They just do random sweeps on anyone who's fishing, I've gotten it quite a few times.

Once, I guess someone must've really sent a fish bot message on me or something, a GM actually popped up right behind me.

I proceeded to stop fishing and spent the next 15 mins chasing him around the ferry.

Sorry for what is probably a dumb question, but never having gotten one of these myself does the GM send you an actual /tell and then watch as you move away from the water or is it like a menu box where you click an option to indicate that you are physically at the computer?

I've gotten an actual /tell before basically saying hello, asking me how I was doing, and just verifying I'm not a bot.

GMs dont do anything >.> all you need to do is chat with them a tad. sometimes you might even talk about the game. I once talked with a guy about fishing and the post I was in.

I was at the time skilling up(when press X was the way) and the spot I was sorta shocked him. ~_~ talked about the zone and how it was great for skilling up and you could even make a few gil doing so.

Make it fun ~_~ lol GMs sometimes talk silly to you as well.

Anyone else noticed less fishbots in Nashmau?

The place was a ghost town the other day... I thought something was up. I ended up going to Talacca Cove after an unlucky streak of YDCA's thinking they had ninja editted the fishing there.

I think if you've been getting tells from a GM someone is reporting you.

I'm pretty low key and friendly, I don't see why anyone would report me. But I guess you never know :/

ill do that on my mule account sometime if it ever happens lol. Never been hit on my mule acc tho, I guess people only report players with lu shangs/Erods. >.> Iv been talked to by a GM when I had my lu, and less then a month after getting my E rod same thing.

Other account, i only have that fiber rod or whatever.

Anyone figure out where to get rusty shields? Have only found rusty spears and kunai in the northern pond with sinking minnow/robbers.

Actually I do believe its like a GM bot thing with auto replies and stuff.

I've also heard rumors if you ever log out when they talk to you its instant mordion gaol for you.

Funny thing is I disconnected like 10 minutes after (s)he talked to me... Good thing my connection stayed solid through our conversation!

From what I've notice that is only the case about half the time. From what I've seen fishing in Talacca Cove and such... one person in the area gets reported and the GM talks to everyone in the zone. Also there is the fact that when you report people there is only a small chance a GM is even going to talk to them. Tested that out by GMing a friend of mine a few times when he was actually fishing to see if he would get a tell or not... mostly trying to figure out why I seem to get tells from GMs all the time.

ok, about to try fishing for seagull/heron rings in MMM. did a bunch of searches, wanna check that i have the right idea. start w/ a blank maze, use sinking minnow in the first pond, shrimp lure in the second, worm in the third, focus on big fish?

any other tips?

*last edit* won, after a little stress when i found out pond 2 is worm lure, and my winning fish in pond 1 got eaten by the damn colibri that stood next to me when the fish was at 20%. no rings, but a couple fish my cooking mule can use and 80 marbles.

Time. Go every day as many times as possible. Helps to friends with lots of mules. Not to discourage, but I went 2 times per day for over a year and all I got was 4 Heron Rings. I gave up.
