I got my hands on a Lizard Lure. Don't have the skill to really use it yet but one of the people in my LS is pumping them out so I grabbed one.

Been cruising on skill ups, which I'm sure they'll come to a stop, but 53 fishing now. I had 30 fishing since lu's and it's nice to have it and not worry about moat anymore. Was going to skill up on trumpet shells next for profit and use the robber rig while I still can. Borrowed it from someone since they are near impossible to get on my server ;/

Another plug for Rusty fishing in Abyssea. I went in a few days ago and pulled up 68 items in 86 minutes. I went in with only Comp Rod and Sabiki Rig. It's a great money maker if you pay attention to the AH and track buyers.

Yeah about 30k GP in smithing at the moment.

Judging by the picture in the update preview, looks like Titanic Sawfish will be guttable (the most notable fish from manaclipper fishing).

Edit: But I am going to log out by Zaldon with all of my Matsya, just in case.

Fishing in Miseareux and Vunkerl?

Two new Legendaries that I can see in the dats, both of them are reskinned gugras, Soryu and Kokuryu, as well as farther down near the last updates fish is a King Perch, but I dunno if that was found earlier and Im just not recognizing it or if it's new, but Soryu and Kokuryu are far seperated, with several spaces between them as if for expansion unlike the previous expansion ones which are all in a line back-to-back.

I'll try using meatballs in Vunkerl for a stone or two and report back here with what I found, I just hope I can effectivly sneak fish all mobs, I don't wanna accidentally an NM and get raped @_@

PS Conflux 2 in vunk is right beside a bridge :D

From the time I saw the news on new inside the belly fish, I thought of nibu and his obsession with matsya and was confident in my hunch that they wouldn't be guttable and I could make fun of him for getting his hopes up again. :O

But seriously, considering how much it npcs for, its clear that the only purpose of that fish is to use whatever spare esibu bait you got and convert it into cash, and that's not likely to change. :s

Should I stick with Shall Shells and their ToAU equivalent or try my hand at Trumpets?

Also is there a trick at all to Trumpet shells? Most of the bites I get are Bastore Sweepers or Jellyfish using Crayfish Paste or my Rogue Rig.

Trumpet shells suck even at max fishing. you need a lot of time to cap out on them. Its why I did not fish them much.

I would go with shall shells.. probably took me 5 hours to cap on those after learning them. Trumpet right now isn't putting out a lot of skill ups, I haven't capped on those in a single day yet just because they don't come up that often and a lil tough x.x

ya even at 100 fishing you can still lose a shell from time to time ~_~ they are not fun, you really do have to focus lol

I spent bloody ages to get 2 stacks, decided to hit up Nashmau instead and found about 8 people fishing there so I hitched a ride to Buburimu and the Shells have decided to hide from me.

Bubu was the best place I thought, just less variety of fish so targeted shall I felt more often.

Nashmau people are usually fishing the Ahtapots? and the sister fish to bastore breams to npc I think.

I want to say you could pull in 140k npc'ing the Ahtapots there.

But I could be wrong, I'm still very much a fishing noob ; ; I just joined the fishing guild yesterday woo hoo~ only because I got a /tell and scared me and lost my robber rig I had borrowed ; ;
