Congrats! Once I hit 30 I've got a bunch of Marlins to turn in.
Congrats! Once I hit 30 I've got a bunch of Marlins to turn in.
Brigand's now.
Had more luck with these bloody Marlin than with anything else I've done in this game.
Suppose I have to level SMN now so I can make use of them.
1/4 on marlins. I was trading in a friends since he has them fished up alreadyme, him, and his mule smn burn the fight. It's fun and easy no luck yet on drop.
Hit 62 fishing and it's like I hit a wall at full speed with no skill ups ; ;
I think it's time to come back to FFXI o_ob. I sold my old account so I get to relive the excitement of trading a billion gugs and liks once again.
Anyone else noticed getting faster trade ins for marlins to pirate's charts? Today I've got 4 charts (and have plenty more marlins, waiting on 2hr cooldown), first time on third trade, second time on the first trade, third time on second trade, fourth time on first trade. Never been like that in the past, usually takes at least 15, maybe 6-8 if I'm lucky. Did they change the trade rates since the patches, or am I INSANELY lucky today? No M.kris though![]()
So I've been trying to find a Lu Shang seller all day, I had one of my LS members alts stationed in Upper Jeuno and then Whitegate shouting for hours.
In the meantime I Abyssea'd my first job past 60 (Bard) to 63.
Is there a definitive list of fish/bait/location for the new Abyssea areas yet?
Recently reactivated my account with all the new stuff going on, jumped right back into fishing (and cooking). Really debating on whether to just continue fishing for Istiridye in order to afford a Lu Shang, or bite the bullet for a sense of accomplishment and actually complete the quest.
It's either around 8,940 Istiridye (assuming all NPC'd gil is saved up, which won't happen) or 9,300 (roughly) Moat Carp. The only reason I'm even debating this when obviously Istiridye is the "quicker" option is because I know I won't save up all the money specifically for a Lu Shang, which will make it take even longer, whereas if I'm buying Moat Carp I'm doing nothing but trading them in. Selling the Moat Carp would probably be the most profitable since if I sold the same amount of carp needed for Lu Shang at the current price of 5k a stack, I could almost afford to buy two Lu Shang, but then I'm having to play with the market and depend on what other people are doing, which is a completely different story compared to trading moat/NPCing Istiridye (which is also why I'm not willing to bother with Nebimonites, as lovely as their profit is). Personally, I'm probably going to go ahead with the quest and fish in Windurst Waters so I can get skill ups from the Gold Carp occasionally but not very often, since I really don't want to hit 60 without Lu Shang, and right now I think I'm 49.
What would you do, BG Fishing?
Fish 200 moat a day, buy all moat on ah when you go and trade in. Repeat till lu shangs is yours! That's how I did it.
Buy it. It's cheaper and faster to just farm up the gil and buy the rod on every server.
Yeah I decided to go ahead and continue on with the quest, it feels nice working towards something that a lot of people just end up buying instead (and I don't mean that as an insult to anyone who chose to go that route), it only takes a few hours to fish to cap per day anyway, and if I feel like it I can make some money on the side elsewhere to buy carp, but I'm not the most efficient money maker to begin with. It's just a shame I didn't sell all my shit before quitting last year, I would've came back a very rich individual in this economy, at which point I probably would've just bought the rod.![]()
At 67 fishing, not fatigued or anything, but I am getting a lot of "you didn't catch anything" messages while trying in nashmau again.
edit: eh to add to the randomness I hit 68, next fish .2, fished another few, then another .2 showed up.Happy taru is happy.
I've had the same thing. I'll get .2 .1 .2 .1 every few casts then get YDCA's 4 out of 5 times for 20+ minutes.
I had waited a game day, but how long should I wait to continue fishing it up again? Was also told 70-75 the skill ups will pick up a bit in nash so I'm excited~ 69.6 atm :3
edit: LOL at your title fievel
You can start fishing again at Japanese midnight, it resets your ~200 per day.
Still no Lu Shang sellerI stockpiled all my traverse stones on an alt and did a marathon Rusty item session. Filled up 3 mules with nothing but spears and kunai.
70-90 were awful overall for me, took forever, so hopefully you have better luck :3 funny thing though 90-100 took me probably 10 hours total of fishing, was getting .3's left and right.
And yeah :/ I got in a little bit of trouble in Media as usual! got that title. I kinda like it :3 makes me feel special.
