honestly, i guess i suck as a fisherman, but i can't do crocs or hakuryu w/o albatross and penguin. it was a lot easier to fish on ps2 than on pc (when i was finishing my ebisu, i actually bought an old ps2 just so i could fish on it, because i just couldn't get gugs in).

honestly i make more money making fish into food and selling it, so i only really do hakuryu when the AH is backlogged with inevitable shitheads who decide to flood a market and undercut their own sales a ton (listing 14 stacks of tacos on a monday and wondering why they haven't sold on thursday /rantoff).

i fish in 100+5 gear, tho i haven't gotten support, and unfortunately for me, woodworking precludes megamoglification.

I couldn't fish shit on my PC without "cpukilling" it, even then a 6 year old POS Dell inspiron laptop was 483289x better. I used to keep track of my snap/success/lack of skill messages on gug/liks and a few levels of skill made very little difference percentage wise, so I wouldn't stress too much about support and megamoglification. Shit maybe I'll start doing fishing GPs again just for completeness sake of megamoglification. I still have 4x albatross, seagul, and heron in my storage. If I remember right seagull was good and heron sucked right? Are the new ring(s) worth the effort? I haven't kept up with fishing in a long time since ebisu, dinging 100, and having enough gil to not need more.

WHAT THE FUCK IS UP WITH CROCODILOS?!
I have a fucking ebisu.
first hour: 3 time outs, switched on rings. 17 stamina = 0%....all lost due to lack of skill
first half of hour 2: 12 more lack of skill, 2 time outs

Wow, I'd say about half of my Crocodilos today resulted in "lack of skill" messages. Using full fishing+ gear, Mega Moglification, Adv. Support, the works. I'm fishing them completely to 0% as well.

e: Will post stats in a few minutes; this is getting ridiculous. Unless they are significantly higher in level than liks/gugs, and are simply easier to wear down stamina-wise, I don't know what's going on. I certainly didn't get the "lack of skill" message more than ~5% of the time with liks/gugrus (although they also were apt to snap lines; crocs don't snap lines).

Ended up with 11 catches, and 10 "loss due to lack of skill." Again, all drained, and using full +fishing effects. In comparison, I successfully fished up 19/19 Pelazoea. Quite odd. Was also using "Master crafter" and "Ace angler" atmas if that makes any difference (it shouldn't at all, but I figured it fit the theme of fishing, so why not).

It's just something about Crocodilos. Probably super high level, but just "easy" to catch.

e: 100 fishing, ebisu, etc. I had as much fishing+ skill on as I could get.

After catching those 36 did you go try to fish something else? like dil or mercan or anything simple really at all?

Just curious if you guys are taking into account zoning every once in a while.

I remember zoning every hour or so when fishing Lik, because if I fished any longer without zoning, my recast time would slowly increase. At least I think that was the case...I don't remember anymore...sorry, it's been a while.

I mean, I know I zoned every hour, but I originally did it just because of the anti-bot system SE implemented a long time ago: If you stayed too long in a zone while fishing, your results would decrease. I'm also not familiar with whether that's still in effect, but I would still zone every hour just to be sure (and if it's convenient, i.e. the zoneline is nearby).

Well...I didn't try fishing any other fish after catching those 36...but I wasn't getting any bites at all. Typically while I'm fishing Hakuryus I also have other things biting my lure...but after those 36 were caught -everything- stopped biting. I didn't zone at all though, so perhaps I'll try that today.

I average 120 Hakuryus a day, I only use Puffin Ring alongside Ebisu rod. Typically go through about 45 lures aswell.

I'm going to have to call bullshit on that Twixy, there is no way that is even possible! I had 50 no catches in a row after fishing only 36 the other day! If you really can fish that many...then tell me your secrets!

No way, unless you're fishbotting from the time you wake up till the time you go to bed.... I've done tests to fish ALL DAY at the most I've got I think is 60... I had a friend verify getting 100 ONCE in a good day, but even he averages much lower...

Japanese midnight is likely to pass during their fishing time, so, 120 might be possible, though it would be 1 day us and probs 2 days japanese time, and since the game runs based on japanese time, it is more actually 2 days of 120 rather than 1 day of 120 I imagine, >.>, if that makes sense.

I just don't understand how the cap can be different for every person, it just doesn't seem possible...or fair for that matter -.-

There has to be more to it than just one set fatigue, based on moon or day or some other random factor. Back when I first started fishing Hakuryu I caught over 100 in one sitting(a long sitting, but still). That is in no way my average per day though, most of the time I'll get between 20-30 in a day, sometimes spike up to 40-50.

Also, I've had it happen many times where I'll have caught several, then get no bites in over 30 casts, then suddenly start getting bites again.

Next time you get to 36, just keep going. I've said it before, but I've gotten as many as 15 "you didn't catch anything" in a row, and then BOOM... 3 hakuryu's.

that being said, I've parsed my fishing results and last week the lowest I caught in a day (some days I fish more than others of course) was 19, the most was 41. It varies.
