Shit. Finally finished reading the last 2 years of this thread. Torture. /searchforempathy
Holy christ why would you do that
I don't think it was worth it. I thought someone was going to remake it and summarize all the fishing info in the OP?
Ignore the shit information. One of the players who has been fishing forever really should have admin function over this thread to delete the fabricated bullshit that seems to become fact from being read over and over. For the types of fish you're referring to I believe the only real hindrance is the amount of RL time you can dedicate to it. You generally don't catch them fast enough to reach fatigue in-game before you reach fatigue out of game lol. Reminds me back of when I used to fish Liks/Gugs, I fished for about 14 straight RL hours and was not at cap. Then again that was legitimate fishing, not botting.
Just wanted to say sorry Finbar/Crux, I meant no disrespect with you back then. Having problems in RL and stress on game I ended up handling my stress the wrong way. Ended up taking a break shortly after my last post to focus on RL problems. I'm a girl btw but no biggie.
Starting to fish again after coming back to the game so I'll be posting my end of the results again. I want to cover minnow lure w/o rings because I have hardly done anything with it. Also about the line snaps both are about 33%, and I bet if I evened up the distribution of minnow casts and sinking minnow casts they would be closer together. I was being immature about a lot of it, I just get stubborn at times :\
And I wasn't posting to claim about finding the sinking minnow thing was my idea. I was simply making an effort of showing my results in a clear format and wasn't anything more. I enjoy displaying confusing information in an easy to understand layout and was the only reason I was doing it.
I don't understand why you're calling all the text in this thread bullshit, Greg. All it really is is people thinking out loud and sharing ideas/finds with other people who have similar interests and might be able to help out with problems. No one said any of it is known fact, and it's not my fault that people somehow think it is for some reason. I never once stated that it was fact or should be viewed as such, they were all just my experiences that I thought I would share and get feedback on from other fishers. No need to be a dick about it dude.
I went ahead and edited my posts about hakuryu with a disclaimer that it was only my ideas at the time, so there should be no further confusion.
Maybe so, but that is why it is called speculation. People post their own ideas to get feedback and other ideas, and no one says that it is known fact. I think it's unfair to call all this stuff bullshit when it is just a discussion between fishers. The idiotic part is the people who read it and for some reason assume it is fact, when it was never stated as such.
I thought the point of this thread was to discuss fishing/fish/discoveries/ideas/etc., but what is the point of sharing ideas when the BG trolls automatically say "You're stupid lol" and compare everyone to Urat for just thinking out loud. It makes me mad that I spent time finding the new fish with abyssea and posting here as soon as I did so other people would be able to benefit from it, and then turn around and get compared to a retard just because I shared ideas later on. Ideas that I never once said should be considered hard facts. Anyways it's just lolffxi, why bother even getting upset.
Hey I'm not an idiot D: I just hadn't read thorouughly at the point that I made that post! I am all caught up now D:
Sorry Shad, didn't mean to call you, or anyone specific, an idiot. He just said idiotic so I figured the best way to classify people was idiots...fixed now though![]()
@Talila
And while this normally wouldn't be too bad, the fishing threads generally move so slowly and has so little new information ever added people tend to eat any new claim up or someone comes along a month later and reads it as fact. So the reason I'm so "touchy" on the subject is because once information is disseminated it seems to become fact without any data other than a claim. If you posted a question, then went back and edited the post later saying "edit: Meh, must have been a glitch, didn't fatigue from it, nm" that'd be cool. But posting repeatedly on it and then leaving the incorrect information to be read by future fisherpeople irks me.
sadly I consider my point proven at the bottom of the last page by Shaddix who seems to be an intelligent guy:
So I'm looking to get back into fishing for a bit so I'm hoping to have a few questions answered RQ.
1. For the new rings, are they any good - Puffin and Noddy ring?
2. If one of aforementioned rings is worth it, what's the best bait to use for the inside the belly fish?
3. If I'm fishing Lik/Gugs what is the best ring setup, albatross and puffy?
4. Best bait/ring setup for Hakuryu?
Thanks in advance
Alright I started digging up the old data in regards to figuring out the hidden +skill stat on Ebisu. I'm gonna post a few "facts" and then a bunch of data. I think there's 2 ways we can go about testing this, and if they both match up we can consider it figured out:
Fact:
Advanced fishing support is +2 skill
Fishing skill 13 levels above capped = Auto-depletion
Fishing skill -12 to -24 = Stagnant
Fishing skill -25 and below = Auto-regen
So, correct me if I'm wrong here...here's our way to verify:
1. level 68-75ish fisherman making the auto-regen kick in or stagnant based on changing of skill gear fishing titanictus. We can then determine their exact level, and then figure out the exact hidden skill based on Kaeli.
2. Additional verification, Additional Ebisu holder w/80 skill should NOT have auto-depletion on titanictus, Ebisu holder w/81 skill should have auto-depletion on titanictus.
So new here but thought I'd check to see if anyone has figured out what is making Hakuryu have such largely varying levels of fatigue.
See some post on here about people fishing all rl day getting over 100 and not being full fatigued while others say 30ish.
I started fishing them a few days ago and so far I've reached max fatigue at, 20, 11 (ew), 20, 19 and 21 so far. Mind you the guy next to me is getting that many a day easily. And yes I'm sure I'm fully fatigued. 200+ You didn't catch anythings and even going to knights well going for moat carp same thing. Zoning and coming back nothing. I'm sitting at 105 skill and ebisus using rings and gp body of course but haven't really looked into mog enhancements yet.
Anyone have any ideas? This could be really good money and is certainly the fastest but if I have the time doing trumpets is currently more money a day for me
I've never been fatigued from Hakuryu. I've caught thousands since they were introduced. In a single day, at most around ~80 before I was fatigued. No clue why I haven't hit this mysterious cap people have been mentioning, but I'll definitely post if it ever happens...
You fished on a job under level 20 recently?
cdgreg, I sjlhould have a lv68 fisherman tomorrow if I'm lucky
No I was on a lvl 90 job... I'm just not getting how some people can get so many and others get so few. Not to mention how it is being variable. Used to catch the exact same amount of any other fish everyday provided enough time in the day to do so.
