There are only two ponds. The E-8 one is the pool for zebra eels, and is surrounded by scorpions; you can't catch Ryugu Titan there. The F-11 pond is the one Aihree is talking about, and is the only place in Den of Rancor you can catch Ryugu Titan. I've never tried it myself, but there you go.

Not sure about bait. You could probably figure something out looking at the list of fish that bite there.

VVV Looks like sliced cod and meatballs catch the same thing in that pond. Sliced cod could still have a higher bite rate from titans, though.

Map 1, F-11, and I was using sliced cod because it caught nothing but titans, items, and monsters.

RDM composure sneak fishing is fun Entire pelican ring charges went by without sneak wearing.

I've caught Ryugu Titans in the Den of Rancor with a somewhat steady pace, although the ferry always seems to have a better bite rate. I used Sliced Cod for bait too.

Confirming they can't be caught at the Scorpion pond as well.

I've found an even better spot to fish, but it requires some serious skill and the ability to have a really really long sneak. I'd suggest lv 72+ dancer for AF2 legs and af feet, or if you have the christmas feet for bonus to sneak and enhancing skill+ for long sneaks. Moving on...

The pond near crystal #5 in Abys-Altep is glorious for fishing. I have sat and fished at all 4 spots for catching the legendary dragons and after getting a set of all four I'm confident that not only is altep's dragon the easiest to land and most abundant, you can also catch breams there with sinking minnow at the same time, meaning your "junk" little fish you can catch is not junk! Double profit all the way across the sky!

So whats the downside? The entire pond is chock-full of ravenous aggressive mandragoras. I'm thinking once we get lv 95 these guys wont aggro if no one has fought them recently, however, as they currently stand they aggro by sound very easily and link like mad so it's a very dangerous spot, but the rewards are pretty great.

If you want to play it safe, I'd recommend glacier. It's a safe zone and its dragon is mildly easy to catch.

Here's what I've found:

Abys-Misareaux (Soryu): This dragon doesn't have much for a junk fish to release, he's just a bitch. Snapped my line on average 80% of the time. It took me about 16-18 sinking minnows to land 3 of them and about an entire abyssea session. These guys suck but they're bite rate is highest. Just almost impossible to actually land them =/

Abys-Vunkerl (Kokuryu): This is by far the worst of the four dragons, and yet possibly the second best. Like altep, you can catch bastore breams here, however you will hook a few monsters. But thats not the worst, the dragon itself is both viscous and requires double rings to land AND has a snap rate that makes matsya look like a carp. 20. Goddamn. Lures.

Abys-Altep (Sekiryu): My favorite spot. The dragon's are plentiful here, easy to land, and you can also catch breams. The only junk fish are giant catfish which can be a bit of a nuisance. Monster bites are rare. Only downside are the ravenous hordes of mandies that infest this area but a half decent sneakfisher can fish this spot pretty easily.

Beaucedine (Hakuryu): A bit tougher of a dragon than altep, and kind of streaky. One of the easier to land but also one of the worst bite rates aside from vunk. Recommended as place to go if you don't feel like abys-altep

All of the dragons seem to have similar levels, but some are much harder to land than others (ahem-vunk-ahem). They all hook sinking minnows and minnows, with minnows having lower snap rates but also lower bites rates, while sinking catches more but snaps easier.

AFAIK They all NPC for the same as well.

For anyone who hasn't seen the Net and Lure set, I think it looks pretty nice. Someday I'll get out to Nashmau and test all these MH pieces to see what kind of +skill they add. Figure I'll get another Fishermen's Emblem next and hang it in the MH! Assuming I can and it's not just a mat for synergy synth.

Good point on the STG: thing. Guess the only thing I still don't have from GP is the 150k fishing hole map, maybe I'll save up for that considering how easy fishing GPs are.

If your not fishing to fatigue it does not make sense to cancel black soles. If you were fishing to fatigue on Haks everyday it makes sense.

I'm not sure this is humanly possible. I have been fishing for a little over 2hours almost straight this morning and am only at (almost)60 fish. Granted it is a horrible moon; but if it takes me 7-8 hours to hit fatigue catching black sole and haks, I can't imagine it would take anything less than 20 hours to do it on hakuryu alone.

Do haks use more of the daily fatigue than normal fish?

What? I end up hitting fatigue cap around 30 or so haks! Why is it that some people can catch like 100 haks np while some of us other fishers cap out fatigue so fast? I know that, ahem, super fishing drops fatigue faster than normal but even with normal fishing my highest is like 40 haks in one day. When you say you caught 60 fish is that including soles?

Huh that doesn't seem right does it. first 2 hours I was getting a ratio of 2 black sole for every 1 hak. But now I am at almost 40 haks and 53 black sole....... Maybe had bad luck the first 2 hours.

Oh but I did accidentally fish about 14 fish when I started without puffin/noddy equipped so maybe that was it. Or maybe 50>40 moon really makes that big of a difference?

Ok I need to know your fishing set up. Gear? Mog house items? Mogehancement? Total skill? Bait? In the time it takes you to get 40 haks I've already hit fatigue cap @20~30 haks

I've never hit this low cap, I remember talila posting about it before and I thought it was so low but then was told that isn't true. And I haven't ever experienced that myself.

Oh I have that other synergy item in mh too. The stockfish.

I use Puffin + Noddy as well so I have 0 idea wtf you or other fishers are doing that get you better rates... We must be missing an element here... Do you use guild support? I know today I didnt have it and only got 18 haks before I hit fatigue, one of my worst days yet. I'd ask if you have the KI from lu shangs quest but I have that as well so point is moot... You sure you have nothing else of note regarding fishing? What kind of armor do you wear other than fishing?

I'm pretty sure that your botting no? Maybe if those other people are as well you should discuss your settings.

The obvious factor (to me at least) looks like your reeling in your fish too fast, which is fatiguing you faster.
